That’s all well and good, but it’s a little ridiculous that they are charging twice the cost of a very nice camper to NOT give you those things in a package half the size. Sure, the metal shell and novel suspension adds to the cost, but I would think that’d balance out with the milk crates, plywood counters, jerry-rigg

I mean, they are, though. Same platform, same body with minor mid-cycle updates, same 6.2L V8 making the same 415 HP (on the GXP), same Tremec TR6060 6-speed manual. The only significant differences are the newer interior/infotainment tech and the magnetic suspension.

That’s true enough. But I don’t think Forkish was too set on the A pillar thickness. My point is that they could very easily build a safe, modern car that is also a fun-to-drive 2-door hatch. It’d be a little heavier, and would need to be more powerful to compensate (not difficult considering the original CR-X Si had

Maybe? I mean, if you live in a small rural town, you might not see many. But that’s often a factor of the local industry and the fact that the Big 3 are usually the only ones that have dealers in those areas. My home town is full of shitboxes, but it’s not uncommon to see a farmer or hockey mom driving around in a dom

Or certain former Jalopnik staff who REALLY need their landlord to be cool with their house looking like a chop shop.

Or you could just buy a G8 that's a few years older, but exactly the same car for thousands cheaper.

All of these are pretty dumb reasons to ditch a car after owning it for that long, with the exception of the service. You knew there was no engine noise and that everything ran through the screen before you bought it. And while a test drive may not be able to give you much info on the long-range comfort, I think it’s

If high-voltage components can be damaged so easily, that seems like a pretty big safety issue.

There’s nothing inherently unsafe about a 2-door hatch. But battery packs aren’t light and you need to balance out the weight of all the extra safety and comfort items with extra power. Just needs to be a fun, good-looking car that feels quick and doesn’t cost $40k.

A Q3 is drawing attention from absolutely nobody. I guarantee that half the PTA at whatever school Stafford's kids go to are driving nicer cars.

“But how does someone play for Detroit more than a decade and only own one American car?”

The NFT shit still just seems like it has to be a money laundering thing to me. If we ever get to the point that people are able to have their NFTs appraised Antiques Roadshow-style, and sell them for ten times that, I’ll be convinced otherwise. Pray to whatever gods will listen that we never see a Craigslist ad with

Combined. Not both at once, though.

These are the same people that will pay a million bucks for a misprinted stamp. So yeah, I can totally see that.

Those are absolutely terrible. We had one as a work vehicle a couple of jobs ago, and it was just absolute trash. Had to be replaced in the first year if I remember correctly.

Mismatched taillights are an exponentially smaller issue than cars driving themselves into other cars while the drivers get in a quick cat nap.

As long as you always park in partial shade, you'll never know.

I think it comes down to a lot of customizing options combined with Ford trying to push the product out as soon as possible. I think they probably released it a bit too soon, before they had their hands all the way around the production process.

328, the musical!

My parents were the proud owners of a very rare 1987 Plymouth Caravan. Apparently, Chrysler didn’t even know what brand they were making cars for at the time.
