Last night was pretty good. Personally, I’m still laughing every time I watch Kate McKinnon in the alien abduction sketch from two weeks ago with Ryan Gosling.

She’s not of course, because she’s still new. But I like that these comediennes all stick together and the more established ones give the new ones a platform. Plus, Amy had Tina in a sketch on her show so Tina needed a payback :)

I was ready to click “Off” when the cast appeared on stage for the traditional signoff, and almost cried when they all joined Bruce to sing Santa Claus Is Coming To Town. Clarence Clemons nephew on sax, Little Stephen, and Vanessa Bayer’s O face at just being there - truly great.

I could be wrong, but I felt like that was alluded to by “Amy’s nanny..... and Amy’s other nanny.” That’s how I took it. It wasn’t explicitly said, but there were hints.

I’m pretty sure they acknowledge this regularly, though a line about it would have been nice. Otherwise, this is beyond awesome — educating people that it takes a village (including, yes, nannies) is a big deal.

Meet Your Future Wife was pretty good too. I’ve been saying, “ oh, God- please don’t be a white lady” all day.

That was my favorite sketch of the night!

Ha yes Bruce was cracking me up. Also loved “Meet Your Second Wife.”

Last night’s show was great. Fey, Poehler, Maya Rudolph, Amy Schumer, Paul McCartney, and all those painful faces Springsteen makes when he performs. Stellar night.

I missed the first half hour .... I didn’t realise they were hosting, so I’ll watch on the pvr later.

Not even a little. And sad about how not surprised I am.

It especially pisses me off because a friend of a friend died in San Bernardino while doing a job he loved. It’s such self-deluding bullshit.

When I was on mat leave I joined a playgroup with my older son that offered on site babysitting for infants to give the mothers a break. There was an older gentleman who volunteered because he loved babies (he was the only one that my fusspot allowed to hold him besides myself). Now wouldn’t something like that be…
