I went to Tintagel via Bodmin a few years back and I highly recommend that area, it’s incredibly beautiful, especially along the coast.

That works *if* you accept that Bertha was actually seriously mentally ill and not just a drunk and a slattern who Rochester found embarrassing and unmanageable so he stuffed her into an attic until she really did go crazy...

Honestly I loved it and thought it was one of the most beautiful places ever but I am kind of a brontë-goth :)
I refresh the toast like once every half-hour on weekdays between 8am and 6pm EST. I would make Mallory Ortberg empress of the known universe if I had that in my power to do.
2 out of 3 correct opinions. Not everyone can be right all the time :)
In reality I started feeling sick on the train up, but I’m willing to revise the story to male it seem like my deathly illness was the result of wandering the moors in too little clothing and too much willfullness.
Oh I am a big time connoisseur of books set in Yorkshire where people of dubious infirmity are locked away in secret rooms and their existence is denied by everyone and any noises are blamed in the wind. Big time.
If anyone I knew ever got married there I would 100% show up in full Mason drag and crash the ceremony.
That’s not a person howling, it’s just the wind! This is Yorkshire where no one is ever locked away in secret rooms to have their cries blamed on the wind!
Thanks for the follow Kelly, you’re the best 😙
From a distance in the December fog I could definitely see the inspiration. It’s very lonely and remote up there on its windy moorland hill.
OK clearly I need to go on another Brontës pilgrimage, to see this and also because I was dying of a chest cold last time and couldn’t make the trek to Top Withins (the inspiration for Wuthering Heights) and went and sat in a pub called Wuthering Heights instead.
At least we’ll always have burritos? 😭
Harry Potter, The Boy Who Conserved
I voted against it bc global warming and speed boats are going to make sure there are no manatees in like 10 years tops and I thought we were voting for what would last until the end of time 😿
Does she have a brain injury or am I just misremembering celebrity injuries? My dad has a TBI and he often says wacky, dubiously relevant things.
