This is a cop show in as much as the Simpsons is a family drama.

Given how ball-bouncingly hysterical Murder in Successville was I’ll be willing to give this a try - the thought of Conan going through it is tantalizing. But it was so gloriously British I don’t know how I feel about it being remade.

Serious Question: how close was the involvement of the MiS team? Did they buy the

I’m having a ball with it, but I’m worried that like Battlefront II before it, the hive mind of Reddit will kill the game off before it has any time to find its feet.  I’m especially hopeful about Portal but yeah, not so much EA/DICE’s sticking power.

The unique problem for Battlefield is that it has a small but vocal minority of fans who want it to be a hardcore milsim like Arma. So it’s taken a few steps towards being more arcade-y and they’ve lost their shit.  For casuals its as much fun as the other Battlefields have been.

This is so goddamned childish. Is it perfect? No. Is it the worst game on Steam? Of course it isn’t. I’ve been having a ball and I know lots of other people are too, and this idiots who want a hardcore milsim are going to grind it into the ground before it’s barely left the gate.  Portal in particular has the

Well, except as the article notes the people who paid the extra were the fans who were really excited about it. Harsh to shit on them like this, and still a bad look.

If DICE conned people into buying early access which is actually beta testing in disguise, it’s not really the gamer’s fault.

This is so sad to see. It might be naive but I dearly hope this marks the nadir and a turning point for Rockstar. I’m sure I’m not alone in saying that they were once my favourite devs, responsible for some of my best gaming memories and some of the finest worlds in the medium. Look at other devs talk about GTA3 and

Between this and BF2042 early access being a shambles, this has not been a red letter day for gaming launches.

But half the time it’s done, it’s done in the most banal, shallow, disrespectful way you could possibly imagine, a clear attempt to tick checkboxes for easy sales, rather than actually say anything meaningful about diversity, or comment on the actual lived experiences of diverse folk.

Personally, I don’t necessarily want Pokemon to be more grown-up, I want it to be more ambitious. They haven’t fundamentally changed in 25 years except to add bells and whistles, and they seem pretty relaxed to stick with it.

Oof, if you’re strapped for time this may not be the game for you. It’s phenomenal but it’s a lot. Like, not gameplay wise - it’s dead easy to jump into. But it is massive, and rewards exploration, and they literally add new countries every so often.

IIRC Brie Larson filmed her Endgame stuff before Captain Marvel - her role was small and generic because they didn’t really know much about her as a character while filming.  I’m definitely excited to see where she can go from here out.

Apropros of nothing, that header image gave me a crazy vivid burst of nostalgia. Convenient and cheap as digital stores are, a little bit of me misses how tactile browsing a games store was. I’m such an old man *sigh*

I probably speak for a lot of people when I say I’m torn about this. If the quality of DW is sort of a sine wave RTD was responsible for the highest of highs and the lowest of lows, whereas Chibnall was a lot flatter - less controversial but also less memorable. No car crashes but also everything is utterly

I vote Kasdan.

My general view is that George Lucas is a phenomenal world-builder, but a shitty storyteller. His ideas are exquisite, but what he does with them is pants, and descends into spectacle over substance

Star Wars soars best when good storytellers use his world as a framework for small, intimate stories. And

Rockstar desperately need to catch up. The enigmatic shtick that served them well in the past just won’t cut it these days, and certainly not if you want to open profitable live-service or online games. For a multi-kajillion dollar company to not have any meaningful community engagement in this environment is

I mentioned nothing about morality, you made that up. And you seem to have entirely missed the point of my post is pretty clear, i.e. that any benefit of the doubt you could once have given Rockstar in response to a development like this has been seriously eroded by their actions over time.

If anyone’s trolling here, i

I see what you’re getting at, but there’s no way this is happening without Rockstar’s approval, at least tacitly. If Rockstar were to express dissatisfaction with Take Two’s actions I doubt it’d continue.

It’s such a shame, Rockstar were always historically my favourite games developer but it’s getting harder and harder to defend them. I’ve one of many who are still sore about their treatment of RDO, but it’s remarkable how much the success of GTA:O since Year 2 or so has warped their whole attitude to games and fans

I’ve always been partial to Thor hanging his hammer on the coat peg in Thor 2, though I’d suggest most of Ragnarok.  That, or “this undercarriage is filthy”.
