Well, please consider that Freddie Gray was “under the protection” of the Baltimore PD when he died. And he absolutely wasn’t the first. The fact that these players are well paid because of their high level athletic skills is entirely irrelevant with regards to their right to protest.

They’re trying to bring attention to a serious issue in this country. Celebrities beat their own political drums all the time - it’s just part of being a celebrity. They have a much bigger venue with which to make their voice heard than the average person.
Well...I heard a guy (a middle aged veteran, he said) on the radio this morning saying he’s going to cancel his DirectTV, stop watching the NFL and contact any NFL sponsors and let them know that he’s not going to spend any money with them because of these protests.
What kind of “patriot” peacefully protests institutionalized racism in the Greatest Country in the World which was founded on the ideals of freedom and liberty?!?!?
