I think it would look better in gold.
I think it would look better in gold.
It has already been addressed. Multiple tests have confirmed that the wires will stay intact and functional during the life of the warranty period.

I thought the energy drinks company did chassis work. To be fair they know a lot about aerodynamics and chassis in general; I heard their Formula 1 team isn’t horrible.
You forgot the part where it was designed by an energy drinks company.
No, because no one who read this article will ever own one.
I like that it’s in silver.
Yes and no.
Is anyone else concerned about the long-term prospects of all of those wires strung over the glowing turbos?
I’ve seen a couple of the old Datsun’s and Toyota’s around town recently, and it amazes me how big our small trucks have become by comparison. You can get a lot done with a small truck, but we fall all over ourselves to buy big trucks with short beds. You can’t throw a rock without hitting a Tacoma with a 5' bed. …
Which on one of these I say “so what”? What killed these trucks was rust, rust, and oh, yeah, rust. The drivetrains are basically eternal.
Having actually looked for a <$3K little truck a couple years ago - this is WAY nicer than what was available in my area for that price. $3K in SW FL will get you a 2WD Ranger with rust and 200K that is in worse cosmetic condition than this.
I grew up riding in the middle of a bench seat single cab 85 Hardbody 4x4 on a fancy padded seat my mom sewed together. If you know these trucks you’d know that it had a 4WD shift lever that was in a cut-out in the bench.
All of this is horseshit! I had one of these in 2wd form for years. It will easily attain highway speeds and will easily drive at highway speeds. It’s nothing near fast, but that’s not the point. Great little trucks that are tough as shit, easy to work on an cheap to run.
Aaaaand COTD.
I had one of those 3 years ago and knew the engine was tired at 270K miles but got it for dirt cheap and no rust (CA truck). I was surprised when my mechanic tore up the engine and found it had never been rebuilt before.
I can attest how slow it is. I had an 84 4x4 with a custom fiberglass extra cab. The thing would only do 75 at I-5. I took it to Riverside twice and it would do as low as 55 mph on I-15. I had to floor it before going uphill.
Great price on that brand new Frontier!
You KNOW that thing was ridden hard and put away wet. But it’s probably tough enough to take it. For less than $3K? NP.
