20 years ago it was (quite) a different story, but I can say with absolute certainty that if I’m killed in a car wreck, it will be because some nitwit crashes into me due to their negligence.

Imagine how fun driving would be without having to drive those wallowy fat whales.
It may have more to do with the fact that alot heavier vehicles are on the road. In the battle of inertia the bigger will always win.
With stability systems, it’s not as likely as it used to be (the reason they’re mandated) and the increased rollover standards mean they’re less likely to be hurt if it does happen. Anecdotally, I used to see them rolled over somewhat frequently, but I haven’t seen that in years. (I’ve seen far more cars rolled over,…
The larger vehicles also increase road wear. The more SUVs to deal with bad roads the worse the roads.
I always love it when actual evidence confirms my anecdotal evidence, which is that the people who drive slowest on bad roads are always in the bulkiest SUVs.
You should see my 2014 Ford focus with 15" steelies in winter....
Proper SUV or truck can also easily absorb poorly maintained roads. Pothole that could damage a Honda Civic rim has no effect on Suv/truck 17" rim with decent rubber sidewall.
Years ago, I remember hearing that someone had done a study of the speed of traffic over the temporary metal plates on the road deck of the Golden Gate bridge.
Potholes have even less effect on lightweight cars with decent rubber sidewalls.
SUVs are 28 % more likely to cause depression in car enthusiasts than a smaller fun car like the Miata.
LOL. The middle ground would be to get it driving, but even that is *easily* $25k, minimum — He’s basically replacing the entire underside (all floors, frunk, all suspension pickups, etc.), and that’s before even getting to the body rust under that paint, lung-searing moldy interior, and most mechanicals.

Despite it’s history of embarrassing automatic braking failures, Volvo’s Moose Detection technology is probably a lot safer than Tesla’s Fire Truck Seeking Auto Pilot.
Yeah, reminiscent of the AMC Eagle.
This looks like an 80s concept car from AMC. That is all.
Yes but old bimmer. I haven’t been around here all that long, but one thing I’ve learned the Jalops love is an old bimmer... and it has a manny tranny. You might as well try to tell them gold bullion is worthless.
The 7M can be pretty reliable, assuming the headgasket has been replaced from the factory one. I’d much rather have a 1jz swap.
As someone with extensive experience working on MKIII Supras, this car is priced at least 10k more than it’s worth. Even then, I need to know if they headgasket has been replaced and properly torqued and while it claims that, lets see the paperwork. Is there any clutch slippage, pop outs? Any turbo shaft play etc.…
Owner knows he has dealbreakers if he was honest with the ad, but is confident in his dealerlike skills of bullshitting that if he gets you on the phone or on the drive that he can talk you into it. The only winning move is not to play; CP for stupid games.
