A Drop of Hell, A Touch of Strange

What does Billy Porter do and is there enough demand to make it a high paying occupation? The only times I’ve heard the man’s name have been when he’s worn some bizarre outfit at one of the usual venues for glitterati to do that sort of thing. I just assumed he was wealthy, eccentric and connected.

You haven't heard the good news about Our Risen Lord Rusiris?

Beyoncé probably told them not to make eye contact with her fans. No one that wealthy and famous is a nice person, not anymore. No one.

They absolutely were bred for aesthetic differences. An Irish Wolfhound and a Great Dane and a Saint Bernard are all large dogs but all look different because people bred them that way. If utility was the only standard they’d be much more similar.

I think we can deal with this issue as well as the similarly caused issue of short muzzled dogs having respiratory problems by forbidding the sale of purebred dogs at a premium price. Or any price beyond what the local animal shelter charges as an adoption fee. People can breed them if they want but they won't make a

Why is there an Office meme where Michael Scott is right? That doesn't make any sense. Did he come up with this or is it a conservative meme or something?

A government can make any laws it pleases because, within it's borders, it has a monopoly on violence only abrogated by whatever agreements, commonly called constitutions, it has made with the inhabitants of the territory it claims. And those agreements themselves are subject to change as there is no higher authority

But not good. Understandable, but not good. Even domesticated animals can be extremely dangerous let alone wild ones.

Hell just using Street View would have told them it was a rocky trail leading off into a desert.

Have you ever seen the video where a zookeeper is pulling the gate of an enclosure shut when an elephant grabs the metal frame with it’s trunk and slams the gate so hard it launches the zookeeper out of frame of the security camera? That one waited until the human wasn’t looking and even looked away like it wasn’t

Apparently you think my objections are political. I assure you they are not. What I’m tired of is biographical films that ignore actual psychology in favor of romanticizing individuals to fit a storytelling mode. As well as those that try to substitute a slice of a life for an appraisal of an entire life.

There’s a music podcast I like. Really in-depth and well informed, the host has a personal connection to the topic and an encyclopedic knowledge of the subject. There’s the occasional flash of snark or sharp humor but in general the tone is almost scholarly. I wanted to see what other things he was doing so I checked

To inform the writers that they don’t care for this kind of content, presumably. Pointless if the content they dislike is the focus of the site but people still want to be heard. Bitching is cathartic to some.

They are now! No more giant needle injecting into your abdomen. Regular shot in the arm.

I don’t know the man’s history or how he compares to his contemporaries in the sport, I’m just going off of the description in the article. Perhaps the movie exaggerates for dramatic effect or plays loose with history. I’m curious if that attitude is addressed in something other than hero worship or justifications. We

I understood your humor, I was just pointing out that your joke may confound those who don’t know what “sic” means if they’re also unaware of variant spellings of English words. Reading your comment could leave them more confused. Many of us are barely literate, apparently including those who write for a living.

Holy shit, she was the real Kangaroo Jack the whole time! Now I feel bad for making fun of her plastic surgery. It can't be easy to transform from a giant rabbit-deer into something vaguely human.

This makes it sound like Enzo was a terrible husband, father, employer and human being in general. Why on Earth should I watch a movie about a bad man whose employees made good cars? This description:

And here I thought we were getting a new movie where the goddamn kangaroo finally raps, and a female one this time since Jack was such a fucking disappointment. And is murdered for it, presumably. Yet there seem to be no kangaroos at all in this and it was clearly made before the film I thought it shared a world with.

It’s mostly the deductions that incentivize certain choices rather than punitive taxation. We generally prefer rewards for making more socially acceptable decisions to punishments for making different decisions.
