“All right, this game features 1000+ explorable worlds, entire novels worth of dialogue, a 30-40 hour quest with likely dozens more hours of side quests, but...gasp, oh no, it costs ten whole dollars more than what a standard game has cost since 2005?” (when in order to actually keep up with the 37% inflation in the

how about supporting all the writers and developers who poured their heart and soul into what looks like an awesome adventure in a wonderful universe that’s bigger than the original author and her real life politics?

A little good-natured ribbing isn’t toxic. It’s no worse than sending a sarcastic “Congratulations” sticker in the newest Mario Party when someone lands on a Bowser space.

There are still a RIDICULOUS number of tech jobs out there. They may not be for “the big dogs,” but for example, my company (in Atlanta, GA) has been trying to hire new web developers for like the past six months, and for extremely generous salaries. We’ve not been able to find anyone because there’s so much demand.

Fuck you Myst is good

Please, by all means, highlight a better group of game journalists than Mike Fahey, Evan Narcisse, Jason Schreier, Maddy Myers, Cecilia D’Anastasio, Patrick Klepek, Gita Jackson. Name the site or the journalists. Go on, try your best.

Heaven forbid a video game be a game. Like wtf is turns into gamey gametown? That’s like saying “Citizen Kane was great but then it descends into filmy filmtown.” Yeah, that’s what it is.

See, the funny thing is I’m not sure I agree with your first statement: I don’t think it’s wrong for a work to have trashy fan service or titillation. It’s not generally what I’m looking for but sometimes that’s what people want.

I am an immigrant to the States, and I am appalled by the actions

While I initially thought that, is there any direct comparison to the scale of what is going on, and the circumstance?

None of the comments referenced in the article seem particularly salty to me.

Take a deep breath. Then think about the single-most popular thing Nintendo has made. Then think about creative writing practices, and how pedantic repetition can get boring to read. Then take another breath. Then maybe a drink.

I realize the New York Times is read and promoted nationally and internationally, but at its core it’s a regional newspaper about and for New York City, which is part of its appeal. It should be centering the experiences of New Yorkers (ALL NYers).

I don’t care if it’s messy, I care if it’s ambitious, a word I never thought I’d associate with GameFreak.

You know what, at this point I’m rooting for him to never finish ASOIAF. Take it to the grave, my man. I have never seen such an ungrateful, impatient, ignorant fan base.

Makes you wonder why they’d bother doing it if you’re damned either way.
