It looks pretty great. I dig the art style, music, and overall vibe. Big fan of super-colorful and weird planets in the style of ‘50s sci-fi art.  And after how amazing SteamWorld Dig 2 was, I’m looking forward to seeing what they can do in 3D.  Hopefully it comes to PS4 or Switch eventually.

Pathless looks interesting. But the world seems strangely empty. I feel like I’m going to get tired of the forest aesthetic if that’s all there is. And if they don’t have a map, the signposting better be *very* clear, because I have no sense of direction and can get lost in my own backyard. It would also mean the

Why would perfect English be out of place? Having English at all is out of place in a sense, but we accept that it is translated.

Hmm, there are so many different kinds of platformers I feel like I need at least three lists.

Must be a reference to Doki Doki Panic (ie. Super Mario Bros.2)!

THPS2 was my favorite, but the first three games (the only ones I played) were all great. The levels in THPS3 were slightly too big for my taste and weren’t quite as tight as the ones from THPS2, although the revert was a nice addition. My favorite level is the school from THPS2, which is just the perfect playground.

This, exactly. In my experience this game is just a bunch of cring-y non-sequiturs that you shuffle around. The cards call way too much attention to themselves and there’s not much room for creativity on top of them. Like, okay, that’s nice that you think “Daniel Radcliffe’s asshole is delicious”, but uh, what do you

What was his explanation and why do you think it sounded weird? Was not aware.

Oh man, this looks like the Rogue Squadron / X-Wing successor I’ve been waiting for forever. And it seems so obvious! I kept wondering if EA/Disney just hated money. Turns out they don’t! I don’t even care about Star Wars but I definitely want to play this. Please be good, please be good...

Sounds like there are two campaigns. “The campaign stars two small groups of fighter pilots. One part of the New Republic and the other part of the remnants of the Empire after the destruction of the second Death Star.”

I haven’t played this game, but some moments of violence I saw on IGN’s review were pretty shocking. Here we see some killing not of monsters or of mindless goons, but of real people. I’m thinking of one particularly gruesome killing of someone who looks like they could be my friend. I don’t know that I’ve seen that

I was also in the camp that hated the look of Wind Waker when that first trailer hit. Over time I came around. I’m still not a big fan of the characters’ faces, but it definitely aged a bit better than Twilight Princess with all its brown.

For that matter, it’s pretty funny to imagine just barely landing on the Zerg homeworld of Char, or wherever, and immediately just settling into a calculus class...

I always wondered what that scream was about.  I thought maybe it was some guy losing his mind trying to learn calculus or something.

I had extremely similar feelings after playing Vader Immortal on Oculus for about two hours. No hallucinations, but I definitely felt an eerie feeling of unreality to everything. Your experience of feeling that your hand was going to clip through the store shelves matches mine almost exactly. Driving was especially

Alyx Vance. I’ve heard people complain that she is really just a blank slate and people only love her because she has a huge crush on the player character... and in retrospect it’s possible that’s true to some extent. But goddamn if it didn’t work on me as a teenager. To me, she was actually very independent - seeming

This just seems utterly cynical and manipulative to me.

I loved seeing this. Thank you, Kotaku.

It’s just way more fun if someone gets to open it for the first time.  They can take the risk on waiting for updates etc.

A new X-wing seems like a no-brainer. Could be great in VR too! Why is this not out already? For that matter, a new Rogue Squadron could be amazing... not to mention a new KOTOR. Sometimes I think Disney doesn’t want my money.
