There’s a bar in Vancouver, Canada called “Chill Winston” and I’m #old and #notcool and had no idea it was in reference to anything.

They definitely had a *wink wink nudge nudge* deal with Seattle - where I coincidentally live now - and felt like the language they used up were was far stronger than anything said to KC.  Having said that, it was 10 years ago, and maybe my memory just fails me.

Yeah, there was a lot of talk about that possibility (or for the Penguins to relocate at that time) for sure - and why not? It’s certainly a possibility.  But a lot of folks in KC make it sound like they were straight-up told that they were promised a team, and that just wasn’t the case.

I lived in KC when they built Sprint Center. There’s always talk of a potential team moving to a city whenever an undertaking like a new arena proposed. However, this idea that AEG promised KC a team if they built it is 100% revisionist history. As it is, they now have a nice arena in an area of town that was going…
