Marnie for the win on this one. nachos with just the fake cheese sauce and jalapenos are the best and the corn dog pick covers the hot dog vote. Pretzels and popcorn are also go to items. Growing up in a cold city you cant go wrong with hot cocoa either.

I think cilantro is horrible abut I love me some Cheetos. I’m a bit of a snack food junkie though.

I’ve had good fondant before.

Ill chalk that up to reading it yesterday and replying today.

Item 1) Let the other guy lose money on delivery. He can work himself into financial ruin.

The scenarios you discuss are outside the main points of the article which is dealing with costs paid from restaurants to the delivery services. My statements still stand that restaurants with agreements need to price accordingly.

Im of the mind set that touching anywhere on the tongs makes the whole tongs infected. Getting Covid on your hands is just as bad as in your mouth because your hands will inevitably come into contact with your face. Plus touching the bin infects the candy within.

I’d argue that they don’t. Prices rise by manufacturer decision all the time. Look at cell phones. I remember 300 being crazy money for a phone. Now 1200 is becoming common. That is certainly not driven by consumer choice but they sure are flocking to those new phones.

Doordash and Grub Hub cant just charge a business with no agreement in place. That’s like you mowing someones lawn without them agreeing to it and trying to charge them. You’ll never win in court.

No I’m saying the restaurants should raise their prices so they dont lose money. They’ve signed on to a new expense and need to pay for it somehow so they either cut somewhere or raise their price. If the delivery services are running at a loss they should raise prices too. Theres no reason for anyone to lose money.

The delivery services are not rent-seekers. Delivery provides a worthwhile service and additional value. There’s a good portion of the population that doesn’t want to go out to pick up food themselves and thus order only at deliverable restaurants. A person literally has to drive to the restaurant and then drive to

That changes nothing of my claim that restaurants need to account for delivery cost in their business model. Its not a free service you cant expect a delivery service to work within your tight margins. You have to raise prices. If you cant meet market pricing with delivery added its a bad plan. Don’t get mad at the

That’s the wrong way to run a business and anyone just arbitrarily setting prices without knowing if they can profit from them isn’t going to last long even without a pandemic.

I’m just going to say what I always say here. The restaurants need to raise their prices to cover their costs. If the delivery service takes a cut add it on to the food cost so you are covered.

The desserts look rad but I think people will be hesitant to go for bulk candy with shared tongs these days. Although its NYC so there’s enough people who don’t care that it just might work.

COVID part aside DeSantis didn’t set up the unemployment system nor was he endorsing its current state. He was pointing it out as a problem. Here’s the quote from the linked article

Why are people stockpiling canned drinks? Drinks in cans have a relatively short lifespan.

I do think the current system works. The vast majority of Americans receive health coverage through employer options and those that don’t have a number of programs available to them to get their own or assist if they are willing to fill out the paperwork.

You say that until you realize how much more taxes you’ll be paying. CA ran the numbers on going single payer and the cost would necessitate a 2.5X tax increase.  I cant afford that.  Can you?

This looks great. I’m booked this weekend trying to both figure out rabbit meat and perfecting carbonara but these are getting added to the need to try list. Rabbit meat runza rolls off the tongue nicely.
