Chevy Z71 = GMC X31 and a step above would be: Chevy Trail Boss = GMC AT4

Thing is, its not irrational. The NA V8 is proven as reliable and durable over the long haul. It may no longer be the top performer but real truck buyers have all heard horror stories of blown turbo’s, damaged interoolers, carbon deposits and excessive oil use and, new or used, may look to the tried and true V8 as the

If I remember right the Z71 for the Silverado/Sierra is getting revamped to actually be a beefed up off-road suspension package and not just a fancy-named shock absorber package. It makes sense that they would try to replace it with something off-road-but-not-really.

Seriously the LV3 is a great motor. 285/305 hp/lbs-ft with a really broad delivery is pretty great. You can bump it to 297/330 on E85 if you feel like burning fuel like crazy. not to mention its probably as light or lighter, physically smaller and more reliable in the long run.

People rag on the outgoing 4.3 V6, but a couple of guys that I know that have them, have nothing but praise for them. They get good real world gas mileage, are smooth, and do 99.9% of things trucks owners these days, do with trucks, including some moderate towing (5K pounds or so.)

Also, on hot days and asphalt driveways, turning the wheels when stationary can damage the the driveway surface.

What kind of F1 style-megasoft compound are you using on a street car that turning the tire while stopped is creating any kind of noticeable flat-spot?

LS engines are good for drift

I love C5s, but the interior is kinda plastic fantastic, and they can be a bear to work on. I will own one someday.

This is great! A ILX-Type S would be awesome, pleaseandthankyou.

It’s also on the rear “gas cap” badge. It screams “trying too hard special edition,” like those yellow bumblebee Camaros with Autobot badges.

Don’t do the TFI Upgrade unless you can find a stack of OEM Motorcraft TFI modules. The aftermarket ones are junk, and making me want to sell my 88 F-250 because of all the headaches I’ve had with it. Only a genuine Motorcraft module has lasted more than 1000 miles. The one thing you might have wanted to do was to do

I appreciate the Clearview for being free from heavy traffic for the most part, save for when the exits to the LIE and GCP overflow and ruin everything.

It’s because he really doesn’t want to let them to go. He’s a hoarder.

exactly my thoughts. scrap value is only $100-150? offer them “buyers choice $200/ea.”

You’re too nice. These are way too high for a bunch of cars that have just sat in a field without even being started for years, which probably had plenty of issues to start with. 50% of minimum book value, at the most. The guy just doesn’t want to get rid of them so I’d bet he’s playing the “I’ve listed and nobody is

Every time I hear about this guy, I get less sympathetic. If he truly cared about his “collection”, he’d be selling them for scrap value just to keep them from the crusher. Sounds to me like he’d rather just have them scrapped.

I had hoped I wasn’t the only one catching the Craigslist stereotypical lines. “Ran when parked.” Yeah, 20 years ago, and will need at least 2-3x book value in work to make it collector condition, and at least book to make it daily driveable.
