Paid $2000 for it. Put $1000 maybe? Into it over 3 years. Not including tires. And I bought good parts too, didn’t go cheap. It was a ‘95, not some new-fangled one. I’d still have it if I had the time to put a new motor in it.

I couldn’t wait any longer than I did. From private sellers, to buy-here-pay-here to dealerships, nothing worth the money. I was flaking off potato chips of rust on one Tundra and pointed out where the frame was startling to come apart and the salesman insisted that it was “fine.” Not just Yotas though, drove 2 hours…
I love Toyotas. I looked for 6 months and with a $15k budget couldn’t find anything that was worth the asking price. I wish wish wish wish I could have gotten a double cab 1st gen Tundra
How about make a frame that doesn’t rot? 4Runner and T100 frames are just as bad, no recall for those. 2nd gen Tundras are rotting. Literally every Toyota truck or BOF SUV besides the LC rots out after a few years UNLESS you make sure to keep it clean and covered in fresh undercoat. Every other truck manufacturer’s…
Yea, but now youre depending on the PO to have gotten the recall done
The frame recall only lasts a certain amount of time, it isn’t unlimited.
I couldn’t believe the prices on the 5.3 four door Colorados when I looked at them. I thought that would be an easy, cheap, truck to find. NOPE.
I spent an extra $20 on an “OEM Stainless Steel” muffler for my wife’s Versa a year or so ago and that thing is ALREADY rusting; meanwhile the exhaust on my Silverado that’s three years older with 20,000 more miles looks brand new.
Thanks, but I’m ok with my not-rusted-to-fuck frame. A well cared for Tacoma is worse for the wear than a neglected Chevy in the northeast.
If I had the cash I’d be next in line
Fully selectable. 33s fit without any mods if I’m hearing right.
6 spd auto only in the diesel.
Bigger carb and modern ignition. Hell, go EFI. If you actually plan on driving something more than tuning it to adjust to different temperatures and altitudes every time you drive, carbs and all that old school is nothing but “Hey, look at my vintage stuff!” ... stuff. If you enjoy tuning, tinkering, and cleaning…
Quit fucking around with points too. Yea, cool, you can set the gap with a matchbook but who wants to actually do that anymore?
It’s incredibly easy to pass a OBD1 vehicle in NY.
goddammit I miss my RS.
Yea, that is true. I like this color, I just am not feeling it on this.
AEV already canceled the Brute and released a 1500 RAM to replace it.
That’s true.
NP: Though it should have been painted black, grey, or silver. This blue just doesn’t fit the build.
