No leather in a Tacoma
No leather in a Tacoma
I can’t get over the fact that this is a $45k truck and for the same price you can get a goddamn POWER WAGON. That is twice as much everything and gets pretty much the same fuel mileage.
1st gear, low range. Feet off the brakes unless necessary.
Same.
I’m sure the Laramie will forego the grill/graphics/cladding. That’s the one I’d get.... but it comes with a pretty serious price tag.
Difference is it was an 05 on the outside, but still a 97 on the inside. Dodge’s interiors have finally caught up (passed?) with GM. Ford still has the nicest truck interior by far.
I really like the idea of this truck. Sometimes I think it’s just too big for me, but then I start drooling over Four Wheel Campers and things... and then I want one more. It’s still a Dodge though, admittedly the 2500s are a lot more reliable/beefier than the 1500s... which have a lot of front end issues.
I understand that fully. However, I am not one of those people.
Yea, but the Toyota Crawl Control/ATrac/Whatever is a LOT better than what seems to be coming on the US-Bound version. The world-Patrol has near Rover spec 4x4... but some Aussie mags rate it slightly lower than the D4/RR and LC200 off road.
Unplug the connector to the compressor too so you don’t add drag to the motor. I did that trick with my Disco until I rigged up a switch.
I’d just leave it open, or “borrow” some auto locker from a vendor when you get the ESJ. You’re only running 31s right?
So far, it looks like just 2wd/auto/4hi/4lo.
Moot. Auto lockers are the same as welded rears 80% of the time. I have close friends that have logged tens of thousands of miles on welded rears. Hell, I drove cross country with a welded on rear transfer case output yoke. You have enough wheelbase in a XJ so that a welded rear isn't sketchy.
THIS GUY
You have a lot more issues than losing 1" on the belly.
The issue isn’t the welding, it’s that it’s a c-clip axle. The axle he has is pretty stout anyway, I beat on a 27 spline 8.25" with a locker and 33s for a while under my first XJ.
My (probably ignored because its a couple hours after the post) commentary:
Not the first and not the last truck I’ve seen that big tires take out the washer fluid resi.. lol
Pretty common mod, yea.
I believe it. I’ve ridden in a v5 STi swapped one. Magical is the word that comes to mind.
