So if they cast a white man for Black Panther 2 ayone who objects is a racist? Are the people who objected to Ghost in the Shell’s very caucasian cast racist? Are your feet in constant pain from stepping around that broken logic?

No, but you are the one saying petty things like “Idiots. Stupid, racist, idiots”. That kind of rhetoric says a lot about you. So again, grow up. And maybe when you’re done you can comeback and provide something more intellectual structured than that.
Picture an alternate universe where he said he didn’t approve of Ciri being a BAME. People who criticize The Last Jedi get labeled as sexist, racist, man babies. Just for criticizing it. The hellfire that would ensue had he disagreed would be a sight to behold.
If you don’t have any problem with judging someone by the color of their skin then I guess you can. That isn’t an intelligent or progressive way to go about life but to each their own I guess.
Yeah the most vocal usually don’t represent the majority. But that’s also assuming that they’re the only ones who have a problem with it. If you’re attracting that much negative feedback you should at the very least make an attempt to understand where it’s coming from. You lose nothing from listening to them. And…
I don’t doubt that there are some BAME actors who could fit the part. Neither would have a problem if they did land it. I’m more concerned about their skill to portray the character.
So many articles gloss over the fact that the director is excluding white women from the role. Sure other arguments exist that can be refuted like how it’s fantasy, not actually based in Poland, or an easy fix to the lore. However none such exists for this one which appears to be why no one defending the choice…
Ignoring your audience is perhaps the worst thing you can do. After all they're your source of revenue.
Few actually care about their ethnicity. Most are just upset that the director is excluding white people from the part. Why does their skin color matter?
You shouldn’t value a diversity quota over skill. Include a diverse cast but pick whoever plays the part for the main character the best. You’re limiting your talent pool because of skin color alone.
Well it isn’t that she might be of color. It’s that she will. If you’re white you can’t play the part. Your skill is irrelevant, only the color of your skin. Why not give everyone a shot? Surely a good Ciri is worth more than the color of her skin.
I think more people are upset over the exclusion of white people from the role rather than the chance she might be black. That and that she actually liked about this in her tweet.
Not nearly as fagile as the director who thinks skin color is more important than skill. Why else would she exclude white women from applying for the role?
I think the problem is that rather than the chance of not being white she’s going to be confirmed not to be because that’s the color they want for the role. There’s no actual reason for this change. If the director just gave everyone an equal opportunity and didn’t put skin color in front of skill most people probably…
The “if you care so much why don’t you make your own” argument. A classic. Unfortunately most people don’t have a massive company with a budget in the millions to fund that.
Well that is part of the narrative integrity so I don't see how it's withstanding them.
“...peoplewho get all bent out of shape about anyone non-white showing up in it.” Really? Anyone? Or is it maybe only about one of the two centeral characters being segregated to only BAME?
Making that claim doesn't make people racist. Grow up.
How about this. Give who ever plays the best Ciri a shot. Why cut out an entire chunk of actors simply because of their skin color?
So why not have the role open for anyone regardless of skin color?
