What middle ground would there be? She’s white in the games and books. It isn’t even ambiguous. So why say you’re ONLY looking for a BAME? Like, I’m fine with her not being white but why aren’t you giving white people a chance for the role? Why not try to find the person who could best play Ciri? It’s like requesting

Pretty crazy that this happened not even 20 minutes from me. Never had a reason to go into Jacksonville and this doesn't help. No where is safe.

Or maybe just ignore or block people who you find offensive? Maybe don’t attack the community even if you think they’re trying to tell you how to do your job? God forbid we choose any other alternative that isn't attacking people.

And those people won't get fired because there isn't a reason to fire them. Companies don't just fire people randomly because the community asked. There has to be a reason and usually the reason they're asking is because that employee did something malicious. She was fired for just reasons and mob or mob she wasn't

Or maybe they saw her tweets and had all the evidence they needed to make that decision? She attacked community members and didn’t back down when the explained they weren’t attacking her. You can’t just walk back from that. The situation is no different from someone using a racial slur.

No? They fired her for attacking the community. She because there was a "mob" after her doesn't mean Arenanet bent over backward for them. Had she made some racial slir she would've received the same punishment, just as any other company would.

Cant wait to see how all these companies react when one of their employees starts attacking community members.

And NEVER could you actually guarantee your behavior if you got that type of response (sometimes helpful and sometimes with the intent to be disrespectful to you) over and over again throughout your career.”

Clearly you would have to otherwise she wouldn’t be in the position she’s in...or rather the one she isn't in now.

To compare Twitter to a debate is ridiculous. They aren’t the same thing. It was a public post from a public profile on a social media site. It's structure doesn't really allow for large debates however that didn't stop her from making over a dozen posts. If she's tired of rando asshats she can just turn her profile

I'd think most of the employees would be fine so long as they refrained from calling the community"asshats" "sexist" and "mansplainers". You'd be surprised just how easy it is to avoid doing that. Self control goes a long way.

A company can look at your social media before hiring you to see whether you're the kind of person they want to hire. Getting hired doesn't change that. You are a reflection of the company you work for. If she's incapable of taking a basic discussion and so flooded with mansplaining maybe she should actually make her

It's even easier to hold your tongue. Deoir couldn't have been any more kind and respectful. If she's incapable understanding that then maybe she doesn't have the skill needed to be on the narrative team.

If an employee anywhere calls you an asshat with the intention of insult do you think that’s justified? So you think it’s good for the company’s image that they allow they’re employees to be so verbally obtuse? Maybe you do. But a lot of companies don’t.

If someone comes into my work and tells me how to do my job better I’ll take it in stride and ponder over whether or not it is useful. Never will I flip out on a person and never will I assume they have no experience.

You’re right, we are human and one of those interesting things humans can do is control their actions. We aren’t slaves to our emotions. It isn’t an excuse. Everyone is capable of self control.

You mean the one trying to have a discussion on game design with her? Or the one's who said Deoir was very respectful and wasn't deserving of the insults?

What about when you say it's great that someone is dead? What's the excuse there?

Se got her warning when she was  claiming it was better that Totalbiscuit was dead. Repeat offenders don't get a second chance.

Self control is a must in any industry. You don’t freak out and insult the customer. Clearly she can control herself to the level Arenanet maintains it’s members be at. That she didn’t even receive any reprimand when she was celebrating someone’s death shows they gave her a chance.
