I wish I could use Hader gifs to express my approval of this. Words just seem so.. skimpy.

Jessica, I am so proud of you for standing up for your site, your authors and your commenting community.

From a member of the product team, thank you all, readers and writers and users and everyone, for your patience. We'll keep working on this.

I said this in another thread, but I use a burner account not because I am trolling but because I am AFRAID of those kinds of people being able to hack into the Gawker (or other blog) system and retrieve my personal information if I happen to say something that pisses them off one day. (I've said stuff on here I

I hope Denton sees this and other comments like this and and takes them to heart. No one should hear this from employees: What we've dealt with these past few months finally reduced me to tears.

Sincere thanks to the tech and product people — both New Yorkers and Hungarians — for working tirelessly and staying up until the wee hours to deal with this. Köszönöm.

"This is my left ear. It's quite something."

Burt I don't understand you with out GIFS, sorry :(((

RIGHT? COMEDY GOLD, PEOPLE. OR MAYBE MORE LIKE COMEDY ZINC. COMEDY ZINC, PEOPLE.

Denton was the one who came up with the burner concept; why is he not answering this?

Agreed. We are all entitled to free speech, and we are entitled to the consequences of that speech. If you behave like a mentally deranged provocateur you deserve to have your rights yanked from you. Those are the consequences. That's true outside the confines of the internet, and it should be true here as well.

You don't even have to link the actual comment - a link to the account itself in general or even just letting us know the screen name helps (though links are the fastest solution from our end) - still a "report" button would be neat - I'll suggest it from my end.

What's perhaps most frustrating to me is that people like myself would be more than happy to do our share of active moderation for free, but the Kinja platform fundamentally lacks tools that would enable us to act as moderators. There is no "report" function, and even if it was, there are no tiers of privileges. As a

I mentioned elsewhere that I want a direct "report" button rather than an email for a couple of reasons, but another reason is that I don't reeeeeally want to be emailing links to violent porn from any address I use. IT networks tend not to like that shit. And it would fuck up my predicted ads.

Steve is the best!

I use to go to other sites and read the comments and think "thank goodness Jezebel is not like that." The previous systems that use to be in place that promoted and encouraged quality commenting really made a difference. It is still not quite as bad as other places but I don't really see as much of a difference

Wow, thank you guys so much for writing this. To be honest, the mods have been dealing with this on and off for years. It's never been as bad as this. But back when we had main page abilities, we were able to remove the content alongside authors and tech. It helped protect our readers, our writers, everyone. It's

IT'S SAND. I THINK. I MUST HAVE BEEN NEAR A PILE OF SAND AND THE WIND BLEW AND IT GOT IN MY EYE. OR SOMETHING.
