True, but still weird to me that BMW doesn’t just do this themselves.

Yes, but paying more and getting options for that is different than paying more and getting nothing material for that extra cost, except ‘look at me I’m first’. Plus all Model 3s of the same trim are the same price, so you don’t feel like you need to hunt like a madman to find the one with the lowest ‘markup’.
Seriously, effing nitrogen? If you let the air out of all the tires do you get a $249 discount?
Ewwww
Checking in with stock 15s!
I’ve been thinking about your comment for the past few days and honestly this is the most articulate, astute observation and description of what I feel was the downfall of German automakers. I want to print it out and frame it.
Finally, someone who has tried electric from a major automaker and then Tesla and can speak to both. I salute you!
So VW’s talking 2022? That’s 10 years after the release of the Model S. Crazy to me it’s been that long and no automaker has come up with a car that has taken away the ‘default EV’ status from Tesla.
I also love that this one is old enough to have those weird seat belt latch things, instead of a standard buckle.
Since the W126 S Class was released in 79 I’m hoping it’s on the over-engineered to last list, I’m hoping to acquire one for my next purchase.
I’ve never understood this - I’m 32 and maybe the generation before me latched onto this myth, but as someone who began to really be into cars in the mid to late 90s, all I understood was that German cars broke a lot and cost a lot more to fix than their American/Japanese counterparts when they did. Doug is the same…
Omg. If your choices are Touareg or 4Runner you must go with the 4R. =/
Phaeton, Touareg... what’s the third?
Hahahah maybe it’s actually a Russian propaganda site?
In my mind a crossover is anything that is made to look like an SUV but is unibody. And an SUV is anything body on frame.
This was my favorite line of the whole article and made made laugh out loud haha! I’m going to start calling them this.
1000% agree. The designs are bulbous and the driving dynamics suck. They are so far from where they were in the late 90s/early 2000s it’s depressing.
The general consensus from reviews has been that this is worthy of its price and not only looks good but has great materials usage and feels good as well. GM will have a tall order on their hands when they redo the Escalade.
I don’t think trucks from a luxury make will catch on in the US. The people who buy luxury trucks want the illusion of the trucks being from a rugged base, and that’s Chevy/GMC/Ford/Ram. These individuals are much more likely to buy an $80k Ram than an $80k BMW truck. Look what happened with the Lincoln Blackwood and…
