Yeah, that Central is absolutely stacked. Meanwhile my Bruins can’t even beat out the lowly Red Wings and Flyers! But I can always hang my hat on that beautiful Cup win in Vancouver.

You take a Cup over anything. Some teams are going to be dealing with that for years, but if you ask fans it is worth it. I personally hope Stamkos stays and the Lightning can keep most of their core. They have an exciting, young team there in Tampa and a very bright future.

The upper limit is probably not enough to keep him unfortunately, but the team can always hope that two near misses in back-to-back seasons will convince him (and maybe a couple others) to leave a little bit of money on the table for another few playoff runs. Yeah, but Yzerman is some kind of wizard so if anyone can get Stamkos to take a below-market deal to stay with a winner it’s him.

They should re-sign Stamkos if the money is right. I mean he is still a top-10/top-5 player in the league. Although if signing him means losing other players, they should let him walk. They have built a pretty good team there and they should do all they can to keep as many players as possible.

I agree with that statement. I also agree that if I choose to invade (which I do plenty) and I get ganked (also plenty) it is my fault for going into an unknown. If I put my red sign down, I don’t expect to get ganked, I expect someone who wants a duel. That is all I was saying there.

Fair enough. Just pointing out that it isn’t always invading that leads to those gank squads. If you invade, you get what you get.

Or, you know, you put down your red sign and all of a sudden are ganked to death when you just want some fun agreed to PvP. That also happens quite a lot.

But that would require people to use common sense. I work in the sports section for a newspaper in Florida, and one of the games we play sometimes is what column can I write to get the most hatemail. The only way to stop people from doing these types of things is to just ignore it.
