Trust me, I'm not anxious to re-engage with the someone so self-righteous and narrow-minded as yourself, so you don't have to worry about me getting back in touch.

Oh honey, "next time" you could grow up a little and stop acting like a ranting baby.

Interesting, that's exactly how I saw yours - contradictory, self-serving nonsense. But I also added narrow-minded and presumptuous in your case.

Okay, so now you're being pretty obnoxious, which I guess is par for the course on the internets when people don't like what you have to say. So good on you, but this attempt at a discussion about varying viewpoints is obviously going nowhere, so I really have nothing more to say to your ranting - you've made your

Well that's certainly possible, but I personally will give him the benefit of a doubt. Anyone can turn into an asshole when the idea of power gets into their head, regardless of political affiliation.

Except, where do I ever say that I think the Republican party is staying true to anything? I am saying this is what my friends believe. You have this bad habit of putting words into my mouth.

Uh, where do I say that they don't agree on some policy matters? And who in the world are you to tell anyone how to justify their faith in their political party?

Again, just because you don't agree with everything a group stands for, does not mean you should have to up and leave in a huff. You can agree with some things and not others. Not all Republicans loved Reagan, or Nixon. Not all Democrats loved Clinton, or Obama. Just because you belong to party, does not mean you

Their current policies can be problematic, but the party was not always like this, and certainly not when several of my friends registered as Republicans decades ago. The fact that most of the Republicans in congress may have accepted this as their platform does not mean all Republicans think this way and, as Mr.

Also, I love your name; Patsy Cline fan? That's probably my favorite song of hers...

Well I certainly won't knock that sentiment, even as a straight female. ;)

I think you're sweeping all Republicans with a very broad stroke. I know many moderate Republicans who believe in things like fiscal responsibility and the end to government intrusion, and that's why they were drawn to the party originally - all the social crap these people in congress are doing appalls them.

I'm sure he knew that when he joined the party. I'm glad he's speaking out against the morons though. Perhaps he'll inspire some common sense amongst Republicans.

Starbuck. I will always love you.

That doesn't necessarily mean he should be judged by it.

Lol, I had to answer you because I had a story along these lines: one of my best friends from college was and uber-conservative Catholic when I first met her, but slowly came around to this guy's position of "pro-life as in I hate abortion but recognize it as a necessary evil and think women should have access

Not all Republicans are evil. He could have become a Republican for reasons beyond abortion. I'm a Democrat and don't always agree with everything they do, does that make me guilty by association as well when Democrats say and do stupid shit?

I have no problem with someone being personally anti-abortion, as long as you aren't trying to make it harder for anyone else to get one because you personally don't like it. Abortion is a complicated issue and I know many people who are personally against it but don't think it should be illegal or overly regulated,

Listen, if you're going to post a 90s Aerosmith video, go Cryin' or go home. Because my teen self never wanted to be anyone as much as I wanted to be Alicia Silverstone making out with still-young-n-hot Stephen Dorff while rocking grunge plaids.

It infuriates me that these assholes speak of the "rates" as if they are so informed on the matter, yet they fail to take into consideration that the vast majority of rapes aren't reported, or the fact that these "low rates" still amount to tens of thousands of women who are knowingly impregnated through rape every
