Adding android auto is a more complicated thing than most would guess. The reason that AA didn’t get added to Toyotas when CarPlay was added was due to some privacy concerns/disagreements between Toyota and Google. Depending how BMW implemented AA in idrive 7, that implementation may not have been within the agreement…
