I will be honest and say I hate minivans for one reason: IMAGE. They are SOOO much better at interior packaging then any crossover or SUV. They have a lower ride height which means it’s easier for the kids to get in and out. They have more passenger space AND more cargo room. The Sienna and Odyssey are even quick off

So for those us Jalops who just can’t wrap our heads around the SUV trend let’s look at the data. We had a huge baby boom in the US in the mid to late 00's and that is now bearing fruit. The boom was NOWHERE near the post-WWII babyapoloza but we have a lot of kids aged 5 to 15 right now. Check out the chart.

Living the dream! Question: I was once in the market for the Pontiac G8 SS until I finally got behind the wheel. I loved the driving character but the interior killed it for me. I know it sounds petty but I just couldn’t see myself driving that almost everyday.

I forgot about that beauty. If they had built and exported that in SS trim I wouldn’t be driving a BMW right now. I STILL want a Chevy SS or Pontiac GTO.

That’s the way of the world for the ‘Best of the Rest’...

Too funny. No Williams did not get points just for spelling their name correctly. Basically lightning struck the same unlucky mope three times in three different places. During the German Grand Prix back in July five drivers crashed and two went out with mechanical issues. Did that score a single, lonely point for

I’m pretty much waiting for the 2021 season to see competitive F1 racing again. This will be another Mercedes / Ferrari show with a little bit of Red Bull and McLaren thrown in for spice. I’m gonna watch to see how Haas and Racing Point contend. So there’s that...

Wow. I did not even notice that. GM is so off my radar I didn’t even think of them. The Ford Edge did make the list though. Thanks for pointing that out.

I have two kids under 9 years old. When I travel alone for business sure I just need a toothbrush and a comb. /s

This was largely the end of the Australian domestic market. Holden closed their last factory in Elizabeth in 2017. The last Commodore to roll off the line was also the most powerful. 636 horsepower in a mid-sized sedan. I love Aussie jalops.

Yeah, I know. I was too excited to care. I saw F1 successor and ass-umed it was a McLaren. It also means I may never see one in person.

McLaren is quickly becoming my favorite supercar brand. Not as pretentious as Ferrari. Not as obviously new internet money as Lamborghini. And somewhat attainable unlike Pagani or Koenigsegg. Plus I really, really want a GT.

Well, they’re wrong. A little background: I train sales and service staff for multiple brands including Toyota, Honda, GM, Nissan and FCA. A huge percentage of new car buyers do a ton of research prior to their purchase. 70+% of car sales are driven by women. Even if they don’t have kids, they’re thinking future

I’m referring to the US lineup. Ford will only be selling the Ford Mustang as a passenger car in the US. The Focus may come as a lifted faux crossover... maybe. The Fusion/Mondeo, Taurus, Flex and regular Focus are dead here. The 2020 Ford US lineup is basically these four SUV/Crossovers, F-Series and Mustang. And

Let me understand this: Ford decided that the future was in SUV’s and crossovers so they’re ditching their entire car lineup? Then they can’t seem to get their act together on their 2nd bestselling model? The Exploriator has been recalled, built shoddily and now doesn’t even come with a ‘Top Safety Pick’ rating? Some

You are right regarding the budget carriers but the big four have been riding that extra fee gravy train to profitability for the last 5+ years. BTW: Besides frequent business travelers who doesn’t need luggage? Most air travelers are flying because it’s too long a distance to drive. If you’re traveling that far...

As much as I like the long roof... I love the 69 Rallye Coupe.

I agree with you 100% and I’m a millennial. The average transaction price of cars is out of control. My only worry is that Andrew is right and the automakers will use the ‘optional equipment’ as a revenue source just like the airlines. (See chart)

I don’t know what disturbs me more: The car or the fact that there are multiple...

I agree and he felt the same way. In this case his hard working truck was sent to a nice farm.
