In true Jalop fashion, the Vic has a 5-speed. :D
I owned an ‘92 Eddie Bauer Aerostar in 2015. Used it mostly to haul band equipment around, but found that it did surprisingly good burnouts and was great in the snow.
dooooooooooooooooooooo itttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt
Everyone is derbying them. :(
TRUTH.
My stable is as follows:
‘03 Mercury Marauder, ‘07 Crown Vic, ‘91 Country Squire, and a ‘62 C-10 father/son project.
Wouldn’t you know that the ‘91 Squire, rust and all, gets the MOST complimentary attention? And since its general silhouette is identical to the ‘79 Ford wagons, it’s a ‘70s car....
I’m just gonna go ahead and say it because it’s the only thing I know how to say. (apologies if it’s already been said - lot of comments here)
Agree with this one quite a bit. When I was in college, and knew even less than I know now, I had a ‘77 Chrysler Cordoba. Learned about carburetor repair in the dorm parking lot. Swapped out the Lean Burn computer for a Mopar ignition system in my mom’s driveway with a “My First Socket Set” kit. Dirt cheap, run…
That’s where Motorweek used to do their braking and acceleration tests!
Great article, Alanis.
The whole Panther platform.
Freeposting some Marauder porn. ‘64, ‘65, ‘03 (mine).
THANK YOU. Been looking for the 'classic car hillclimb' video for a while now!!!
XR-7
‘05 Dodge Magnum R/T AWD.
Annnnnnnd the Ford ‘Performance White’ paint on the P71 gives another stunning performance.
I just came to say that I had some bomb-ass wings and beer today after changing my spark plugs...at 11am. I guess the only perk of working a swing shift is that it's somewhat acceptable to booze and eat wings for brunch.
There goes my hero.
I’ve owned several cars in my life, not all of them great. But one platform I keep going back to is the Panther platform because I truly enjoy driving them. CobraJoe really nailed it. Anyone who says they’re hard-to-drive understeer monsters really doesn’t know what the hell they’re doing.
