The truck isn’t significantly bigger than most other trucks in the same category/class. No chance parking is a real issue. The guy probably realized he’s stuck with a shitty overpriced hunk of metal, and is trying to find a way out of that insane contract.

I can believe this. I can alsobelieve that said cop friends are entirely fictional, and were fabricated spontaneously in the moment specifically in order to make that claim.

The middle two are valid questions though. The Tesla no resell policy for Cybertruck was widely reported and you didn’t even need to be an owner to know about it.

Sure, “cop buddies” will gladly risk their jobs and illegally cordon off a residential street in broad daylight so their tool bag friend can conduct a road test with his tool bag truck. /s

Exactly. the article states the cybertruck is ‘nearly 8 ft wide’, but that is for the mirrors. The Cyber truck is 80" wide (as in 6 2/3 ft wide) , 95" with mirrors.

My (mis)understanding is that Creech AFB is, primarily, the remote operations center for your larger unmanned aerial combat and reconnaissance aircraft, so his job might also require being more highly security cleared than the average bear. All in all, not a great look for a young officer presumably hoping to make

Maybe I’m stupid, but what was supposed to be so amazing about using one finger to turn?

God damnit, I’m neutral on EVs, and I hate Trump as much as the rest of you, but this article is garbage and you all seem to be getting duped.

Anywhere this was actually posted besides the NYT and their paywall? No other news source is carrying the story of what was actually said.

At the risk of sounding like I’m defending that sociopathic, gasbag, petty dictator, did Trump vow to end sales of EVs or did he vow to end sales of EVs built in Mexico?

Biden has proposed a 100% tariff on Chinese EVs, Trump is proposing it on Mexican ones.

The electric car market has jumped the chasm between early adopters and mainstream consumers

Who is responsible for the upkeep of the “speed limit database.”

85 is the speed limit in parts of Texas, some of them a 5 minute drive from my house...

If Google Maps can’t accurately keep track of the current speed limit (yes, I keep checking on different freeway sections,) this will be buggy and incredibly annoying.

I regularly drive with Waze open so I can get alerts for things like speed traps and car crashes.

It’s just telling us that the city is giving up on us.

Bees good. Wasps are the little monsters.  Hooray for the liberation of the helpful little bees!
