Blaming the Boomers is going after the low hanging fruit. The real culprits were Henry Ford and his contemporaries who took automobiles from toys for the rich to affordable consumer products. This happened in the 1920s, well before any Boomers were born. Beginning more than a century ago, our built environment started

Before you scoff or blame the boomers or whatever, just know that your own aging is the only sure thing you have in life. Maybe you don’t care about this today, but one day you will. So better to take an empathetic approach now if you want the same when your time inevitably comes.

I would just like to see more enforcement of existing laws like having to cover loads in dump trucks or left lane camping.  Just the other day I was on my way home from work on I-5 and yet another dump truck full of gravel when zipping past with so much gravel, the top of the pyramid was sticking out of the top of the

See I disagree with banning right on red, instead I would ban unprotected lefts.  With seemingly everyone driving giant trucks, it’s impossible to see if there is oncoming traffic to make a left.

No. Right on Red is perfect.

Laws against left lane camping need some real teeth. We hear about the occasional story of someone getting pulled over for going the speed limit in the left lane, but they’re rare enough the general public often has no idea they exist. There’s no reason, on a 3 lane highway, for anyone to have to be in the left lane

Not even that. The HOA has to change their bylaws to reflect the change for existing homeowners. The Legislature can’t pass any laws that will modify an existing contract unless the contract itself has verbiage that updates the contract to comply with changing laws.

In some parts of the US it is very difficult to find house not under an HOA. They are endemic in Florida, less common in Oregon unless you have a shared amenity like a community pool. I had a pickup on jacks in my driveway for a month, and nobody cared.

Yeah, this is confusing as Hell. I had to look it “Kaufmann Language” and most sites that describe it do so in ways that are thoroughly unhelpful. Best I found was this site:

Nothing. And as long as the industry itself fails to spend the necessary money (something it absolutely HATES doing in most cases to begin with) needed to make itself a less appetizing target it will continue to happen.

So they pay the ransom, what exactly is to stop the hackers from doing this again at some point in the future?

Incorrect. One-third of crashes have been “speed-related,” but that’s an extremely broad category and doesn’t tell the whole story. The classic example: An extremely drunk driver exceeds the speed limit and crashes into a tree. The crash is noted as drunk driving and a speed-related crash.

It’s relevant after the fact. With the number of politicians demanding special treatment, it’s good to see one not trying to use his position to get off the hook.

The barest of kudos for not attempting the “do you know who I AM??” flex.

Once again your political bias is showing. Reminding you that Jalopnik - Obsessed With The Culture Of Cars” should be just that.

Yeah, I find this outrage largely pointless and stupid. People seem to miss that even if he’s guilty it’s guilty of disclosure rules, not underlying activity. Anyone who thinks AOC (along with the rest of them) doesn’t get fancy dinners, box sets, etc as “part of her job” is fooling themselves. Would be great if

It’s because in any other instance where this happens, the customer is given both their down payment and their trade in back. They sold his trade and pocketed the money when they should have given him the money they made off selling the trade.

They have laws and entire hospitals just for this in California. How he didn’t up at the Department of State Hospitals after this is beyond me. I work for DSH, and it consists of mental hospitals for people court ordered to be here. Either because they’re incompetent to stand trial and/or a danger to themselves and

I have MDD.
