I’m helping a friend shop for a vehicle (a lady who really doesn’t care about cars other than wanting it to be a cute color) and was playing with a configurator. Got the car to come out to $32k, a lot but not bad all things considered.

The smoked out trim around the headlights that is bright chrome on the “regular” models is a HUGE improvement. It makes the front end look, dare I say it, handsome.

and the supply-chain problems that are making new cars so expensive (which, in turn, increases demand for used cars) will probably eventually get sorted out.

I agree completely.  The gold plating on those guns is extremely tacky.  Everybody knows an AR-15 should be matte black, or perhaps finished in a light desert camo.

Another comment pointed out that 3% of shootings are perpetrated by police. That statistic includes the completely justifiable use of deadly force so it’s less than 3% but let’s go with that number. 97% of shootings are done by other citizens. The VAST majority of Black people are killed by other Black people.

Exactly. this case comes down to who knew what and when. If the little girl is in the hospital there’s nothing the cops need to do immediately to save her. If the mom drove the girl to the hospital because nobody was showing up then we have a problem. Regardless, interesting how The Root and it’s readers seem to ONLY

Man, fuck that cop. And he’s back on the job? I hope the victim’s family sues him and the city into oblivion.

Yeah, give the PR guy a raise. This was probably cheaper than buying a TV ad and I’m sure will sway a lot more buyers to shop at their dealership instead.

Let’s not kid ourselves that this isn’t (at least in large part) an opportunity for good PR for Frank Kent MC.

Still, motives aside, good on them for stepping in to help out.

If you had a convincing argument about their real worth, presumably you’d offer it, but instead you went with, “google it yourself!” Which suggests you don’t.

- people will continue to complain about range anxiety even though they are driving less than they ever have and their current car has less range than several of the EVs on sale today. Meanwhile, the grownups in the EU will continue to drive the global demand for EVs.

The vast majority of people don’t realize that sideview mirrors can be adjusted to the point where there is almost no blind spot between the side and rear view mirrors. There is no need to see the sides of your car in your sideview mirrors, it’s just a waste of mirror space. There is also no need to see behind you

That slideshows on automotive sites like Jalopnik will continue.

I mean this is true, but a lot more emphasis in your statement needs to be on “quickly”.

My response to any company trying to go all-in on NFTs:

And for some years after their introduction I would have been correct.

Which means that range is more important than it previously was.

As a homeowner with an attached garage with a 20 mile round trip commute and a spouse with a 30 mile round trip commute I want an EV but I have a 1 year old minivan and a 9 year old wrangler. The van just did a 2000 mile drive this week with 3 dogs and very rural areas and I frequently spend days on backcountry trails

75% of drivers travel less than 30 miles per day

Making a separate post for my actual predictions:
