That is my understanding as well... But it is also my understanding that the effects house that did it for them saved all of the elements and would be more then happy to reproduce it in higher resolution if Paramount wanted them to...

I assume you meant TOS? As far as I am aware, the Animated Series is not on Blu-Ray yet! (Well, except for one episode, since season two of TOS on Blu-Ray has one disc dedicated solely to tribbles, with the TAS and DS9 episodes included as bonus features... The TAS and DS9 ones are just upscaled, alas, and not true…
Where ever the new Apes series takes us, I do hope it eventually ends with something that is either a loose remake of the original (although not as loose as Burton's alleged film), or a loose remake of Beneath.
Well, if you want your original FX shots, then get the original Trek on Blu-Ray. It has both versions, the new-fangled CGI effects and the 60's effects. And all of the film footage, even that of the original effects, is presented in sparkling high definition.
I'm not even going to touch the original Dune or debate the novel vs. either adaptation... But when it comes to novels past the excellent first one, it was a struggle to get through the second, and I never did finish the third. Yet, I enjoyed this:
One of these days, I should try "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep" again. I do own a copy (amusingly, titled "Blade Runner," with the original title under that in parentheses) and have tried at least twice to read it, but I just couldn't get into it! Yet I still kind of feel as if I should read it...
It would have probably, alas, raised the cost a bit... but this would look a hell of a lot better if it wasn't a onesie! Make it a separate shirt and pants... but on the shirt, make it so that the "coat" portion does extend down to the full length. (Looks damn weird when the back of the "coat" isn't visible between…
Oh, I'm sure that didn't hurt. Still, if it was only one thing or another, I'd imagine he would have just been given the option to quietly retire back to Lanister lands, or take the black, or something.
It is still basically the same movie, but it does feel more finished and is overall better for it. They really need to reproduce it in high definition. It is a crime that the director's cut isn't on Blu-ray.
I fear I only just discovered this story, and don't have the desire to wade through the (at the time of this writing) 920 already existing comments... So if this has been said by someone else, forgive the repetition.
Depends... Would you consider Data a traitor for disobeying Admiral Droughty? Or Droughty a traitor for acting against the principles of the Federation and executing an illegal operation to forcibly relocate a species? (And then being dumb enough to want Data on the mission and think that trying to do this under the…
Apparently, even Paul Reiser's mom was glad when Burke bought it. So, nope.
Nope. Nope, nope, nope. I refuse to believe that Coulson would condone the killing of Agent Hand, one of the Agent Koenigs, or the slaughter of most of Ward's immediate family. Especially since that included the killing of Senator Ward, who while for a while a threat, had become a politically useful ally.
(Note: I haven't read the books, so this post is based purely on TV knowledge.)
They were, of course, even tried for it. Kirk got busted down from Admiral to Captain! True.. at the time, Kirk saw it more as a reward, and it was likely even intended as such. But it still kind of came back to bite him in the arse the next time he was on trial...
Well, at this point, the last the public knew about SHIELD was Senator Ward making a speech to the effect of, "My brother was Hydra. And Hydra is bad! But Hydra ≠ SHIELD, and maybe we should cut those guys a break."
How so? They may be unofficial and unsanctioned, but they still believe themselves (and wish to be perceived as) the good guys. Being associated with Ward would undermine that.
The horrible thing is, while the perceived threat of nuclear war is less prominent today then it was in the 80's, I think the actual chances of it happening, while still hopefully small, are probably higher then ever. In the 80's, basically only two powers had 'em. Us, and the Ruskies. And yes, we were in an epic…
Misa does rock! But, at least, Macross Minmay > Robotech Minmay. And having had the opportunity to hear Mari Iijima perform Ai Oboete Imasu ka? (Do You Remember Love?)live was a treat.
"Felicity Smoak was an existing DC Comics character, but she wasn't a key part of Oliver Queen's supporting cast until she was introduced in Arrow."
