While Macross Zero could be a bit confusing, I am pretty sure they never implied that Valkyries (not Veritechs, that's Robotech) were always on Earth and made of coral. Also, I don't recall it ever being said that they were directly converted from Zentradi light armor.

That was the title in the original Japanese program, as well.

Yeah, I was actually surprised that one didn't get a mention in the article! Of course, at least for that one they had a human-built back-up system!

To be fair to the crew of the SDF-1, the ship was a restored crashed derelict which they had to reverse engineer, so it is likely they didn't have a manual. Also, the space fold was done as an emergency tactic to escape from a superior enemy during an unexpected attack. And some of the crew did advise the captain that

Well, I suppose I should be glad he turned down the opportunity. As awesome as years of Peter Capaldi audios could have been awesome, I'd hate to be without McGann and the wonderful years he has had in the role!

Capaldi turned down the chance to audition for Eight? Interesting...

I do quite enjoy the Lynch version (and the "Alan Smithee" version), but I must admit that I wonder sometimes if that would still be true if I had read the book first.

Bah, toughest ever my arse.

I know I shouldn't get my hopes up, because, let's face it, have the headline and the picture in a Morning Spoilers article ever matched? But for one brief moment, I couldn't help but think, "Capaldi against James Bond? Awesome!" And now... now I am just disappointed...

Well, personally, I never got a hint of romance between them when watching the films, I just saw them as two very close and trusting friends/allies. That being said, I was amused by Jackson's comments that I paraphrased above.

Well, to make things a bit meta, Peter Jackson did say that, when working with Cate Blanchet, it was as if Ian McKellen was quite taken with her and couldn't get back in the closet fast enough. I guess if the chemistry between them is that powerful, it cannot help but bleed through to the finished film.

Me: "...no one in SHIELD must ever even think about accepting him back."

Decent chap! A real stand up fellow. Deserves to die slowly in a fire!

A ronin?

This could be kind of cool. Has there been any movies, since 2001 (the film, not the year), that have done this?

All I have to say about Grant Ward is this: no matter how much he plays nice, helping out the team and all, sending them little "presents" because he hopes it might impress Skye and maybe she'll grant him access to her lady bits... That must never happen, and no one in SHIELD must ever even think about accepting him

Thank you, I was just coming to point this out myself.

That is a great shot. Of course, over all it is a beautifully animated film.

Well, seeing as "spaceship money shot" to me would seem to imply that the focus is on the visuals of the ship, I really think credit for this one should be given to The Motion Picture. After all, that was all recycled footage. Glorious and wonderfully used recycled footage, but recycled none the less.

Pie! Easy as pie!
