> Because there’s no clarity at all whether AI-generated art is in violation of any copyright law, because it’s yet to be tested in court, or given coherent legislation. Let alone that “appropriate commercial licenses” aren’t realistically possible in this area.
I’d imagine the answer should have been obvious.
“(There are others who see copyright as one of the greatest failures of modern human society, and that all art is built upon that which preceded it.)“
God that’s irritating. If I am an artist and I take inspiration from someone else’s art and try to weave it into my own style, that’s leagues different from if I teach a…
I think part of the reason the humor works so well is alluded to in the article: it’s not trying to be a “funny game.” Some games seem to fall into the trap of being self-consciously a Comedy Game, and it just puts way more pressure on the jokes to land. It’s a lot easier for a good joke to breathe if it’s just used…
One of the game’s strengths is its humor- there is some very amusing chatter between enemies, and quite a lot of variety of it (can’t recall overhearing the some convos even twice). And the cast of minor characters are all funny weirdos. It’s really helps to balance the tough fights and the increasingly dark plot.
There is no secret cow level in Diablo 4, but who is to say that there is no secret rat treasure hoard level in Diablo 4?
I enjoyed it. I had to convince the part of my brain that wants to look for “threads to pull on” to stop scanning Ford’s de-aged face for things that didn’t look right, but after I stopped looking for that sort of detail and experienced the story, I enjoyed it. I’m going to go see it again.
A real fan would take the card and cast it into the fire.
Microsoft: No, your honor. Outspending Sony to acquire exclusive content was just our old strategy!
This is exactly what some of us have said about the situation only to be told that we’re wrong and MS wouldn’t waste money on out-cashing Sony. Well, it seems like they sure did f’ing consider it.
Which proves, yet again, the entire plan is monopoly.
That means that whatever anti-PlayStation sentiment/strategy it may contain preceded MS’ offer for Activision
I was just waiting for Neyrelle to put that Soulstone somewhere easier to carry after she dropped it in the snow like, say, her forehead.
True, and especially so in Diablo world, it seems.
Inarius follows the old adage: If you didn’t see the lifeless corpse, they arent dead.
My rule of thumb for tjis kind of thing as always been “ If it!s sound exactly like something a fan came up in a commemt section based on existing material, it’s probably false.”
If I found out that my art had been used to train the program that made this stuff, I’d sure as fuck be looking for a payday from Disney (I mean, their lawyers would laugh in my face, but I’d still want one).
Nah. You’d be surprised what booze and coincidences can lead to.
I feel like that was true 20 years ago but these days, indie devs have so many more avenues for exposure. There are plenty of small publishers (Devolver, Team17, Kepler, Humble, Annapurna, Coffee Stain, Playstack, etc) constantly searching for indie games to sign. Online events like Steam Next Fest and IGN Summer of…
