I know, right? How dare anyone have an opinion that isn’t enthusiastic praise, we’re supposed to be undyingly sycophantic here!

Ugh, Early Access.

It’s ghastly that people are losing their jobs literally weeks before the winter holidays. But even from a cold business standpoint, it seems odd to lay off staff right before one of the biggest industry events of the year. Covering The Game Awards is already a Herculean task. I imagine that it’s much harder shortly

It’d be very self-indulgent.

Eh, if you’re presenting, you might want to dress up a bit. A fuckton of people are going to be seeing you, might as well look your best.

First, it is an awards show. This is the sort of thing where you probably should dress up a bit if you’re expecting to be on-stage, joke of an awards show as it might be.

I think she did a great job, but the material wasn’t always there. Honestly, it kinda felt like the writers didn’t really know what to do with her, being the girlfriend locked out of the loop of the secret identity thing. There’s only so much a great actor can do when they’re given a weak character to work with.

Also the “superhero fans” who balk at The Boys are frankly actually balking at criticism of what they’re overly fannish towards and thin-skinned about. Not it calling about superheroes might lure then in briefly but they’re still going to get mad at the obvious critical commentary (if they’re smart enough to

No, I’d say its more of a contentious opinion. Some like it more, some like it less, some like it about the same. The first film was an A to a lot of people, its hard to go higher, and people got different things from it.

Oh, it definitely doesn’t live up to hype. I’d say that the appeal of the film is more that it’s got a certain charm to it, a fun earnestness that really, fully embraces itself and isn’t really trying to be anything else but itself.

There’s a full on, on-screen kiss even. This is not a “well, the subtext says they’re super into each other and will spend the whole season pining for each other”, this is “we haven’t quite defined what their explicit relationship is quite yet, but it sure as fuck ain’t platonic”.

Sure, but it was a core part of playing the game on survival mode. Particularly stuff like item weight and carrying capacities being more realistic (just ammo having weight changes SO MUCH about the game’s economics), it restricts you in interesting ways.

I mean, there’s a whole significantly popular genre of games that’s all about survival and crafting. There’s highly popular mods that people have worked tens, hundreds of hours on in order to add in those difficult survival elements.

That’s not really what I’d call “survival elements”, just more general worldbuilding gameplay features (although I’ll note that even oxygen management is one of those older gameplay features that have gotten more frequently removed from games or completely defanged as its generally more of an annoying hassle than an

Most of all, Princess Peach throwing away the trope of being a damsel in distress for being the Mushroom Kingdom’s fearless leader wielding a freaking halberd matches the fierceness Anya-Taylor Joy brings to her roles, particularly in The Northman.

Eeeeeeh, I’m with Disney on this one.

As a general rule, if the survival elements aren’t causing any stress, you don’t actually HAVE survival elements, you just have some mildly annoying busywork at times. The whole point of survival elements is that they need to cause you stress, with the possibility of your game just being fucking over because you

I’m sorry, are you saying you can’t imagine Dame Judy Dench pulling out an umbrella that happens to have a cannon in it? :D

...well, the good news is that Chris Pratt as Mario isn’t quite as distracting as I imagined, at least in the limited doses we’re getting in this trailer.
