I just set up one of these specifically for presentations so I can have all the types of connections I need between my computer and any type of projector and sound system. It was great to just throw a small bag into my laptop bag and go!

Remember when Yahoo! successfully got everyone to subscribe to their streaming service by offering “Community” through it?
I tend to think of things in terms of digestion. We’re at an all-you-can-eat buffet of information. We could take the challenge (and most of us do) to consume as much as possible, but there will always be much more than we can consume. We are then supposed to have a reaction, but if we haven’t had time to digest the…
Thank you!
Also for audio books. Speed that ish UP!
Yeah, no. Facebook lost my messaging business when it tried to compel me to install an app on my phone. That resulted in me uninstalling the FB app and using the mobile website. Then they turned off access to messages in the mobile website so I found out about the mbasic.facebook.com version. I suppose they could turn…
As a recovering fundamentalist and as someone with quite a lot of privilege due to the accident of my birth I think it’s my job (and the job of those like me) to have these conversations.
I would add to the list whether and how they deal with opposing views. If they offer the best version of the opposing argument (including citing reputable sources for that argument) and then refute that argument with their sources and reasoning, they are more likely to have something of value to say. If, on the other…
THANK YOU! This is so much better! AAK FTW!
This is one of those beautiful posts that puts words to a feeling I’ve had but didn’t know could be so easily described.
How do cloud backups handle ransomware threats? I have been keeping an offline backup of essential files just in case.
I have been thinking about the deep calling that artists have always had to imagine a better way. My work is my resistance. My creativity is doing the work of imagining hope in a world that feels hopeless, seeing joy in a world gorging on fear, and not flinching from the herculean task of learning how to have empathy…
Oh it’s totally a tradeoff. I get lots of tall-privilege. I also try to be as considerate as a I can by standing or sitting in the back for concerts and/or slouching in my seat to avoid obstructing other people’s view. I realize that I take up more space than other people and try to accommodate accordingly. I also…
There’s no trick. The seat is broken because it cannot both allow for my knees to not be crushed and the seat to recline. It’s a design flaw. The solution is to fix the flaw and the perpetuation of that flaw is what’s full of crap.
My strategy, as an amply-heighted individual, is to get in and wedge my knees behind the seat (because they’re going to be wedged somewhere). When the person in front tries to recline the seat won’t move because there’s not sufficient space. Usually they try once or twice and then give up.
In only 247 years I’ll be able to afford that down payment!
I believe the metric conversion is feces kilo.
An important step that you took in your example, but didn’t highlight is knowing what can be held while waiting. The salad doesn’t need to be hot, so it sits in the fridge until you’re ready with the chicken and veggies.
PBJ all the way!
I use homemade peanut butter (in the video below) and Danish Orchards strawberry preserves. The strawberries keep the preserves from being too runny and Danish Orchards uses sugar instead of HFCS.
Hey, but at least Navient’s stock price went up, so that’s all that matters.
