I know numbers only tell half the story when is comes to performance cars, but this is underwhelming.

Sorry, I am fine with keeping power to a specific level and not fighting the hp wars to a point, but where is the “value” or the reason for the current cost? I don’t see the “reason” for the current Si to exist at the pricepoint.
I had a 2013 civic si with 201hp and weighed 2874 lb the fact that we are now 8 years later and the power numbers are similar with more weight is not a good sign. Given the torque was 170lb-ft at 4400 rpm which I’m sure this one has beat but I’m curious to see how much better the 0-60 times are. Also the old 2.4L…
What’s even the point of it now, given the Sport exists, comes in a stick and hatch, and is only 20 hp down on this thing? On the dumb decision meter this is somewhere between not offering the Si in hatchback form and not offering the hatch with a 1.5 and a stick in colors that aren’t.
I’m with your niece on this one. it’s all fine once your actually inside =)
It looks very functional. But compared to the last gen Civic, it looks bland and uninteresting to me. Though I do like what they did with the dashboard vents.
The hatchback is nice, but I hate the front end with it’s overbite and ugly hood seam.
This ^^
I wish hatchbacks didn’t have to be so “fastback”. Imagine how much more cargo capacity this would have if it were more squared off...
If you’re going to take a risk by offering a manual in 2021, you better offer it in colors you know Americans will gobble up without issue.
That is a liftback, not a hatchback. So, for that matter, is the Civic.
The possible reason is be thankful they’re still offering a manual transmission
Probably so PR can state in 3 years that they are removing the manual option because it wasn’t popular.
Agreed. Base Civic is a great buy, just like a base Corolla is. But the second you start adding packages and options and going into upper tiers, GTI immediately becomes a better car. But the same is true for the GTI and Autobahn Trim. Massive waste of money.
The new exterior and interior styling are such an improvement over the last generation’s over-the-top look.
Spend $1000 less and get a BRZ/GR 86. Better handling with more power and torque out of a high-reving NA engine in a nicer-looking car that’s actually Japanese. No obnoxious active driving assists if you get a manual, too.
opting for the manual locks you into a white, gray, or black color scheme
Besides the tablet sticking out, I really like the rest of it...
The Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale - far and away the most achingly beautiful car ever made
Every $40K+ “crossover” under the sun that should have been a $30-35K sedan or wagon. So, all of them.
