Isn’t this site about cars?

If this had been Biden it would have been that he was so frail and obviously confused and unfit

A majority of the 11,300 electric vehicles VinFast has sold worldwide this year were to… itself. Barron’s reports that over 7,000 EVs were bought by Green and Smart Mobility. It’s a Vietnamese taxi company that is – you guessed it – controlled by Vingroup...

Not really a Ponzi scheme because that involves other people’s money paying other people. This is like one guy running a Ponzi scheme on himself. Probably closer to kiting on a grand scale.

It’s going to be just fine...

To be fair it’s not over the top given current pricing.

People are going to buy what they want. Larger, more comfortable vehicles that have plenty of power without feeling like they are struggling. You can make all the mandates you want but they will still buy what they like.

If only those foolish Brazilians would listen to the wise words from some guy in NY!

Original batteries? How much to change a battery pack on a Prius? Why do you think, then, that the Prius (which isn’t even plug in) barely sells here in Brazil although it’s been around for more than a decade at this point?

Because the infrastructure to charge cars here is still a looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong way off from being adequate. Only very rich people would be able to afford any kind of PHEV. And again, flex fuel works just fine without the electricity and all the headaches that will bring in a few years’ time

Exactly. That and it seems like we as the consumers are forced to do 100% of the “saving the environment” while corporations and shipping giants still get to pollute freely.

I can’t decide if the writer is a coward for not engaging the comments that have valid issues with article, or this is just a troll piece looking for clicks and comments. The dry title makes me think the former.

This is one of the most blatant examples of yellow journalism I have seen in the automotive field this year. Jalopnik and their shill authors lost nearly all credibility.

Are you seriously arguing that hybrid- probably plug-in hybrid, because that’s where the market is finding traction- ethenol-fueled cars that cost half what an EV costs are in some way a BAD thing?

You're trying to tell a liberal realities. And this is a waste of time. At the end of the day, they're always right about everything and have all the answers because they know best. So they clearly know best for your country since they live there and have experienced it personally... Through tik tok.

The ongoing failure of EVs in the country is a shame

This article is phrased so negatively... so there’s a country that’s already using an alternative fuel that’s more emissions-friendly than gasoline, why are you mad at them for not wanting to go all-in on EV’s? How much is Tesla paying y’all?

Exactly. It’s tiring to read these articles written by people living in the first world and pontificating about things they don’t have to live in the flesh.

Sugar cane is grown and harvested, so technically it is carbon neutral. If Brazilians run sugar cane cars instead of EV’s , I have no problem with that.

I haven’t subscribed to Netflix since they raised their fee to $20 a month. Not every car enthusiast is in to F1. Conversely, not every F1 enthusiast is an actual car enthusiast.
