Because GM is purely reactionary, and constantly makes bad decisions for the moment, not the future. The Volt is one of the most loved cars by owners, many surveys have shown. So of course GM kills it off.

I mean it is not like that car is selling too well (Volt is discontinued).
And also, like it or not, the fact that it looked like a car half its price.
Right? A co-worker just got a 2016 Volt and loves the shit out of it.
It was probably maintained by Porsche. Service costs at a Porsche dealer are insanely high.
She said right in the article that it drives like a front engined car...
Why would you need storage behind the seats, when there's a Large Trunk, and a Sizable Front Trunk?
Great write up. About what you would expect I think from a new car company still getting its feet under it. Tremendous potential moving forward if they address the issues like any of the better ICE manufacturers would be expected to do. I wonder how many years before we think of ICE vehicles like we do of Stanley…
Doesn’t the Honda Type R overheat the second you put a race track in the in-car GPS?
Im pretty impressed. New model from a new company with new tech should have more failures than this. That being said, it’s relatively easy on a car to do miles over a short time period, especially highway miles.
The 911 is a rear-engine car. This car is mid-engine. There is a very big difference.
Bro I’m 6'2" and drive a Miata daily. You’ll fit perfect in this.
Imagine if FCA’s Daimler-Chrysler era lasted 15 years, and that’s Nissan.
Yeah, driving up prices for regular folks while wages have been effectively stagnant for 4 decades will definitely help things.
Wait.
The CVT may feel awful, but at least it’s unreliable
Kids have it easy my ass. Try playing Mario Kart Wii with hard AIs at 150cc and tell me life is easy. Sarcasm intended.
Also, how about building EVs that are actually comparable to their ICE counterparts in both performance and price?
I agree with you on ending EV subsidies, but strongly disagree with you on raising taxes on ICE vehicles. Alternatively, let people choose to buy EVs because they want EVs and can afford them. In other words, let people buy what they want to buy.
Taxing people more because they drive an ICE? What about people that live in Apartments/Condos or everywhere that don’t have access to over-night charging? Keep the subsidies for EVs
