Yeah, so I got the impression from watching the show that Dylan’s family is actually pretty rich and well off (compared to the rest of the town). It’s really not that far outside the realm of possibility to think he could own that car, especially given how some rich people love to “baby” their kids.

How does a writer for an auto blog not understand this?

Just about any product made, from any industry, is more environmentally friendly if it’s lifespan is long.  This is logic 101.   But it definitely is extra important for EVs since so much energy is expended to create them in the first place.

Acura basically built this car for people like me. I want a car which will carry people, dogs, and occasionally things in a rapid and engaging fashion. Sport sedans are totally my jam. I can’t abide fast SUVs, and I am kind of too old to drive a two-door and expect my friends and family to squeeze into the back seat.”

I’m gonna go with actual knobs, switches and dials to control HVAC and Stereo adjustments. I didn’t realize these were a safety feature until the idiot automakers started replacing them with touchscreens.

You’ve needed help, of the professional type, for years.  Not talking about a mechanic either ;-)

Maybe for the part of the country east of Mississippi River, but it makes very little sense for most of the country’s interior.

Anything with a 6000 GVWR that isn’t actually being used for construction or industrial use is crazy overkill.

if you wanna be cool don’t buy a badge whored sellout CUV.

The stereotype math checks out here, lol

See Goose’s comment about the bullshit and absurdity of the tax incentive. Does anyone not see something incredibly odd here? Their commute is increasing, and rather than buy something that gets better gas mileage than a 4Runner (not hard to do) they’d rather go bigger and less efficient. Talk about ridiculousness.

Amen...other than the GLS part.

Yeah I get that. Same situation everywhere, thanks to our government’s wisdom and disregard for engine (rolleyes). However, if you’re planning to buy fuel specifically to store it in tanks, or know that the vehicle being filled up won’t be driven for a while, it’s worth seeking out an ethanol free source.

I don’t do it

If the fuel that’s sat for a few years doesn’t have any ethanol in it, you should be fine.

No fuel in Raleigh. I need fuel for a trip to Charleston this weekend.

hahaha

If the suspension is still original it’ll cost more than a clutch replacement to have all that replaced as well. Not a big deal if you’re going to cruise the boulevard in this car, but that’s not why (most) people buy these...

Engine failure in this car is most definitely not a “totaled” situation.

How do you know it’s not offered for sale anywhere else?

Not sure if it helps, but I’m here to tell you that Cayman prices aren’t going down any more.  Going nowhere but up.  If you can, figure out a way to buy one soon, or you’ll be outside looking in indefinitely.
