How are they not doing their part?  Love them or hate them, but their sales volume dwarfs just about every other sports cars’.  And their top performance models are available exclusively with a manual transmission* (except for Challenger, where auto is option).  If that’s not carrying the torch for manuals what is?

It’s not so much that the R35 still looks good. It’s partially that some new car designers can’t design attractive cars if their life depended on it.

2018 Accord: 30/38 mpg
2018 CR-V FWD: 28/34 mpg
2018 Civic: 32/42 mpg

Existing car standards are fine where they are. What is needed are stricter truck standards, and a new category for light trucks/SUVs/CUVs. Like a category for anything with a GVWR of over 6000 lb. The current system is a joke, and one of the reason people are buying boatloads of huge CUVs/SUVs/trucks is because their

It’s great to see people maintaining and restoring old run of the mill cars, but...

The IS300 was Toyota’s attempt at building a BMW 3-series competitor, and while they missed that target by a bit, the cars are still really nice to drive and offer levels of durability that BMW owners have fever dreams over.

It’s truly tragic that we’ll never know what could have been had he not been stuck at McLaren.  Having faith in Honda really destroyed his F1 career.

When I owned a 2015 TDI I started to do my own oil change...then I saw that filter location (as you just mentioned).  Said hell no, fuck no...and just put the lower aero piece back on and made an appointment at the dealership.  Fucking VW....

Nice, but you’re not thinking big enough.  When I win the lottery, my property will include a fullsize race track.  For cars, not karts.

Agreed.

4 of the Jalopnik crew contributed to this article, and not one mention of the exterior styling? I can’t be the only one that thinks it looks like a pissed off (or sad?) duck from the front and a fat Model S from the rear. Neither of which is a flattering look.

How rich do you think the Jalop populace is lol?  I think we’re more of an Azeni vs RE-71R vs Direzza Star Spec ZII kind of crew here.

Umm, frankly I’m surprised the difference wasn’t bigger. That’s around what I would guess the difference would be between a brand new NA and ND. If that’s the difference between a beat to hell NA and a brand new ND, then I’m not really impressed with the ND.

Okay?  I never said sedans (or sedan based performance cars) couldn’t be brilliant.  I greatly acknowledge that.  But if I want a sports car, then I want a sports car.  With that comes an entirely different sort of exterior design with fewer compromises.  If I can only have one car to be my everything, well then maybe

One of my coworkers managed to go 450,000 miles on the original clutch in his Accord.  He probably could have gone further too, but the engine dropped a valve.

I had a 2015 TDI wagon with the DSG.  Only owned it for 6 months and a big part of that decision was the transmission.  Was the first automatic I had owned in 18 years and I just did not like it.  It overruled me far to much and at times it’s behavior was erratic.  Sometimes it’s shifts were lightning quick.  Other

Did this guy forget that a lot of people buy performance cars because they’re FUN TO DRIVE?  Wonder if he is also a proponent of EPS.

Over 150,000 BRZ/FRS/86's have been sold.  I’d say it’s selling just fine.

that gave me chills.
