Rear diff is lifted from the Lexus IS350. It’s already beefy enough.

Not designed for the US Market? The FRS/BRZ sells more units in the US than anywhere else, and it’s not even close.
Get out of here with that logic. Most of these posters don’t even know what track day consumables are.
I’m afraid that wouldn’t work, not remotely. The BRZ’s engine is mostly situated behind the front axle. The WRX’s engine is almost entirely ahead of the front axle.
The engine internals don’t matter because Subaru already sells a variant of this engine turbocharged. And I’m “fairly confident” that if aftermarket fabricators can manage to jam a V8 under the hood that Subaru can find a (crashworthy safe) turbo location. Just a hunch here...
Except MOST people that want a more powerful BRZ aren’t interested in a 4 door AWD econobox with spoilers tacked onto it. They want a lightweight sexy looking coupe.
I sold my S2000 for a BRZ b/c I wanted a coupe, not a convertible. Then I later got rid of the BRZ for a Cayman because I wanted more power. If Subaru had a turbo BRZ that’s probably what I’d currently own.
Looks dumb with those fender flares. Especially the front. Pretty happy the production car won’t look like that.
Fingers crossed.
Cayman S. Basalt Black, and stripped. Only option of note is Sport Chrono.
Oh I agree, I’ve got one in my garage. But if one were desiring a newer Porsche ;-)
One can always buy a used 981. That’s what I’d do in lieu of a subaru impersonating 718.
Other than build quality (objective) and looks (subjective), then yeah. But some people put a lot of value into that.
It’s not true at all. As an example, the # of manual equipped VW GTIs sold has held steady for years. Civic Si sales numbers have never been higher and they’re only available with a manual transmission. Ditto the FoST and FiST, both healthy sales and manual only.
Yeah, sorry but that’s incorrect. You must certainly can buy an M3/4 with a manual transmission.
What kind of horrible analogy are you trying to make here? A lot of people equate manual 3 pedal shifting with fun. Nobody equates the crap you mentioned with fun.
Unfortunately BMWs are only meant to be owned during the warranty period. After that you need to drop them, quickly.
Take a look at Acura NSX and Porsche 993 auto vs manual car values. The manuals command way WAY more money.
very well spoken, damn right.
Take rate for automatics is higher amongst the Germans (and others) partially because dealerships don’t stock manual transmission equipped cars, and automakers limit available options/trim packages to cars with manual transmissions. It’s complete bullsh*t.
