Toyota is full of shit. All they needed to do was look at the take rate of the manual transmission on their sole existing sports car, the FRS, for any sort of marketing research.

LOL, very entertaining 10/10 would laugh at again.

If that’s true then why didn’t Toyota just use the Lexus LC500 as a basis? Would have been considerably easier to do.

You’d have to have pretty big balls to go on record in Russia as not approving of Putin. How naive are we here?

Where do you live? A GT-R is just over $100k US

Seems to me that most people are upset that it won’t have a manual transmission, is built by BMW, and will probably be too heavy.

The inflation adjusted value argument is eternally flawed, however. You might as well be comparing computers prices from then as well. That being said, it without a doubt competed with the C4 Corvette at the time. Unfortunately for Toyota they wouldn’t be able to hang with the Corvette today for similar money. They’re

A relic in a few ways sure, but not really where it counts. Early 90s sports cars from Japan had superior build quality, durability, light weight and (in several cases) superior suspension design than what you find with today’s cars.

Except that actually it had really really good handling for it’s time and was bulletproof. And had great styling. If you wanted to go faster in a straight line for less than $100k your choices were a Dodge Viper, Corvette ZR1 or 911 Turbo.

They were compared because Japan had a cap on horsepower back then. The disappearance of that has changed the game dramatically.

Most reasonable people on the internet (they exist) don’t demand or expect a giant killer. They just want a reliable refined sports car with a competitive power to weight ratio. Only the idiots are/were expecting a 450+ hp beast.

It’s already failed in my eyes. Heavily rumored to come with only 2 pedals, and has the heart of a BMW? 20 years ago that would be a good thing, but as this very website has highlighted more than once, performance BMW engines are giant pieces of shit after a few years.

I spent a good portion of my adolescence sitting in the rear facing seats of my family’s Volvo 240 Turbo, and 740 non-turbo (sad face). Thanks to those seats my parents never had need to ever buy anything larger (family of 5). Happy that we never had to resort to buying an ill handling SUV. Glad these seats are still

The fake grilles on the front bumper are clearly non-functional, even on the race car. They even put something on top of them, probably to cut down on drag.

Oh come on. Outside of fender flares (that every race car gets) all they did was try to make the fake bumper grilles harder to see. Other than that, and the wing, it’s almost identical to the street car.

Just another boring TLX variant. Acura is trying too hard with their styling. I hated the beak, but their new design direction is even worse IMO. Meanwhile they never try hard enough with their powertrain development. Now they’re trailing Kia. What is the world coming to?

I suppose that’s personal preference, but it looks as fresh as ever to me. God knows it looks elegant AF compared to the Civic abominations (any of them). It’s ENGINE, however, was old news from the beginning ;-)

I just think people are pissed off that Chevy turned the track focused C5/C6 Z06 into an overweight drag queen. (those people includes me)

Riddle me this. If the stock Accord 2.0T really puts down 266 whp, then why is it slower than the previous V6 Accord?

That looks HORRIBLE. God help us if that’s the “new” 911.
