In all likelihood the driver suffered a medical problem. Unfortunately it doesn’t matter how safe a track is if that happens.

The thing is, however, that you are MUCH more likely to die driving to or from the HPDE than during the HPDE.

It’s funny that you’re picking out 130 mph here. People in the beginner run group exceed that speed all the time if they have a sufficiently powerful vehicle..

You need to do more research, and/or maybe attend some HPDEs.

Why would you think that? The first time I ever went to Roebling I was hitting 115 in my GS-R. Second time, 125 in my S2000. And I run in blue group.

Every serious attempt to kill/capture Blade wasn’t done with police officers. What you’re trying to suggest is quite a stretch.

If something happened before the braking zone there’s a good chance that driver was going 130 mph or higher.

Gave serious thought to attending this event! I’ve always considered RRR to be a pretty safe road course. But right before Turn 1 is the fastest part of the track, so that’s a bad place for something to go wrong.

I used to be a hardcore Muse fan. But for the most part, after their album The Resistance, it’s all gone downhill quite quickly. Sad really.

That’s fair, but we’re talking about purist sports car and not a Daily Driver. Since you live in a snowy climate you can’t have both. But that’s hardly Subaru’s fault.

He really isn’t though. The SatNav is integral to the entertainment head unit. You have to use a stupid touch screen for anything stereo related. Other than volume knob, all touch screen. It’s pretty unsafe.

The photo headlining this article isn’t the least bit realistic. The slope angle is rotated to make it look way more intimidating.

Hell yeah bring it back. I remember watching this back in ‘92. Freaking insane.

What else could we do with all that money? I dunno, end world hunger. Ensure that the entire world’s population has access to clean water. Either of the above options are easier, and less costly, than what the anti-carbon religion entails. But allowing the earth’s population to further increase isn’t something most

Yeah, and that means super heavy and no manual transmission. I stopped caring about the “new” Supra as soon as I found out BMW was their partner. BMW doesn’t care about building cars that last a long time. They cater almost exclusively to the lease crowd. I also doubt the new Supra will have a manual option.

  • Both above sea level charts from NASA. Let me know when I should star worrying. (not sure where the charts went - maybe there’s a lag but they were visible when I posted.)

I understand the availability thing, but the displacement analogy still works.

You’re gonna be so disappointed when the alarmist global warming predictions...never happen.

There’s nothing wrong with preferring AWD. But AWD is also antithetical (think I used that word properly lol) to what the BRZ represents. AWD is great for performance but muddles the connection between driver and car. AWD is also used all too often as a band aid to fix the handling of an unbalanced car (which

Yeah, perhaps. Doesn’t it drive you mad wondering WHY Toyota offered a dealer installed supercharger for the tC coupe and the Tacoma. But not the FR-S?!?!?
