I don’t necessarily disagree, but if they didn’t think beforehand that people were going to be upset with the power output then someone (or several people) need to be fired. I’d even be fine with a 2.5 liter NA engine. If tiny Mazda can offer 2 different engines in it’s Miata then Subaru certainly could as well.

If you have brake pad failure on an autox course it’s either the fastest autox course in the world or the ambient temperature is above 100°F. Or you’re dragging the brakes because that doesn’t happen.

The car’s handling is stellar. No handling modifications are needed to make a BRZ perform well on a race track. None.

Most people don’t like throwing a brand new car’s factory warranty out of the window. But I like my money, so maybe I’m the exception.

Or you know, they could just give us the performance and leave out the “creature comforts”. Seriously, the BRZs already come with plenty of creature comforts. They don’t need to throw any more crap into that car. My Cayman S has close to zero options (less than what you get with a base BRZ) and I couldn’t care less

Coupe vs convertible makes a big difference. I loved my S2000, but I bought it in spite of it being a convertible. I sold it because I wanted a small lightweight RWD coupe, not a convertible. If Honda had offered the S2000 as a fixed roof coupe I would probably still own the one I did before my BRZ. Or another S2000,

It would be higher than the other thing thinks, but hardly “astronomical”.

It’s not that demand is higher for the Toyota models. It’s that there was an agreed upon production split for Toyota/Subaru models. There are fewer Subarus for this reason, not because they don’t sell well. The BRZ sells pretty well for having non-existent marketing and close to no notable updates over the 5 years

No, don’t listen to him, b/c unfortunately he’s spreading nonsense. BRZ’s are tracked all the time with aftermarket forced induction, without problems. But you think that Subaru doesn’t know how to build a turbo itself that will work on a track? Let’s not be too ridiculous here.

FYI you should never attend a road course event with the stock OEM brake pads. Really stupid idea that can create an unsafe situation, and will most likely destroy your brake pads.

There’s a huge forced induction aftermarket for the BRZ. Countless super & turbo charger kits.

Slowest GPS ever, that entertainment unit interface was lethargic in everything it did. Trying to navigate the library of my iPod while the vehicle was in motion was like having a death wish. I only owned mine for 10 months so I can’t comment on the long term quality of anything.

Given that sea level rise has been a constant 1-3 mm for well over 100 years, it would make sense to account for that. Climate alarmism SLR? Not so much.

Oh come on man. The STI has an entirely different drivetrain that shares almost nothing with a WRX. The BRZ, not so much? 80% of the tS stuff could be done by anyone in a garage with aftermarket parts.

Holy crap man, I feel like I wrote this review myself. I haven’t driven a tS but I am a former BRZ-L owner and have the same complaints you do. Subaru continually improves the handling of this car, but nobody ever had a problem with the handling in the first place! This car has always been a great handling car.

There’s a lot not adding up here. Like what the hell is going on for a pre-teen to need a comfort support animal in the first place? And how the heck does that animal take the form of a hamster?

Maybe try rereading my post jackass. I said modern cars. Most of the cars making noise in cities aren’t brand new. And that wouldn’t change even if all cars sold tomorrow were 100% EV.

You kidding? Modern cars’ engines are quieter than ever. Most of the noise people hear from car traffic these days are the tires. And guess what, EVs have tires too. There’s a long list of reasons why some people want ICEs retired, but this is a dumb one.

For under $50,000 I would be looking for the best C63 AMG I could find.

Aha, well thanks! I almost bought one of these, way back in 1999, so my memory wasn’t the freshest. Ended up buying a DB2 GS-R instead. No regrats!
