The trailer looks gorgeous, but it doesn't look very... Astro Boy.

Oh, right. They didn't specify home or handheld. I was just clarifying that they were indeed referring to a dedicated gaming machine.
Actually, they did. Iwata later clarified that the entire reason they chose to announce the NX at this joint press conference with DeNA was to re-assure people that they would not be abandoning dedicated gaming devices.
You mean the new hardware? It's a dedicated gaming console, they've said as much themselves.
I'm not sure when you watched it, perhaps it was before they had all been released, but all of the Lodoss anime of significance was released in the US on both VHS and DVD. However, the DVD boxsets are quite rare these days. We even got all of the manga as well.
Tenchi is arguably one of, if not the most popular original franchise from studio AIC. I don't think it's that surprising they're trying to breath new life into it.
lol, you remembered me!
It did it's own thing most of the time, but I'd say GXP was pretty heavily connected to the rest of the OVA-continuity. Heck, there was a whole episode where the cast stopped by Tenchi's house to visit and several characters, albeit mostly ones that appeared in OVA 3, had recurring roles throughout the show. Plus, a…
Uh, no? It doesn't matter where you watch something, it still needs credits every episode. Not every episode of every show has a completely identical staff. So, might as well make them pretty and put them to music. Plus, OPs/EDs double as advertising for music artists/labels. Anime will stop having theme songs when…
FUNimation re-licensed Outlaw Star, so it'll at least be back on DVD in the West. Another attempt at a sequel after all these years is not likely though...
Ai was basically a test to see if people still cared about Tenchi in 2014. As such, they went with a very low-risk, micro-episode format to test the waters. From what I've heard, it was mostly a success. Any future Tenchi anime they might make will probably be normal length.
I would say the 3rd OVA is worth a watch, at least once, just so you know what happens. If you go in already knowing it's not fantastic then it's pretty easy to keep your expectations in check and just kick back and enjoy it for what it is: more Tenchi, without a cliffhanger.
There actually is a fan translation of the SNES game out there. I can't exactly remember where I got it, but I played it last year.
To be fair, Ai Tenchi is completely separate from the Universe/InLove/Forever continuity.
That is pretty big coincidence that this article would go up while the numbers correlated like that. Of course, it'll only be that way for the span of a few months until the next puzzle is solved.
This was basically a test to see if people still cared about Tenchi in 2014. As such, they picked a very low-risk format to tell the story. As far as I know, it was a success. The director was overall satisfied with the results*, and seems pretty confident he'll be able to do more Tenchi-related projects in the…
While this anime is titled “Tenchi Muyo,” much like Tenchi Muyo GXP, it's not really Tenchi's story. It's Momoka's. Her adventures, school life, and interactions with Benni—the ogre-like member of the science club—are the main focus of the show. This goes double for the harem romance angle. Among all the new…
Eh... I hesitate to label Beni and Momo's relationship as yuri. There is a logical, non-romantic reason for how close they seem to be, but I can't really explain that without going into spoiler territory.
It's a show about skin, suspenders and a giant sword, right?
