yes, this article was posted before Jason Schreiers revelation.

that was a great theme of that season of the Good Place.

not enforceable but that doesn’t mean there isn’t business consequences for sharing, from affecting her own negotiating position to her active business relationships. not that i don’t think she shouldn’t have the freedom to share, but she also has the right to keep it private if that’s her prerogative.

i mean, it wasn’t a lie, she just neglected to mention they offered her $15k-20k before they re-casted her. the $4k “insulting final offer” was actually very generous, offering her a small cameo after they had already committed to Jennifer Hale and it was too late to turn back.

yeah it didn’t sit well when i saw it, mostly because i couldn’t gleam what she actually wanted. “none of this is going to get you a role... ever again.” at least with #Bendergate you could see John DiMaggio’s negotiating posture.

I imagine there is some celebratory partnership somewhere in the industry that uses residuals, but the humble voice actors? Never.

great guy. never misses. you? not much.

Typo on my typo correction, 3 to 4k per session

This is the equivalent of Alec Baldwin making huge demands to reprise Jack Ryan and the studio figuring for that rate they can just go and get Harrison Ford instead.

Typo on my part. But yeah, there was a good faith Negotiation before the recasting, 4k per session over 5 sessions.

Made a typo in #1, *5k per a session, 5 sessions.

jason schreiers update is interesting and makes a lot of sense. as union minimum rates are based around $/hour of recording, the offer of 4k from the very beginning assumed only a small amount of material recorded, which Jason Schreirer confirms was a cameo offered as condolence after re-casting her when negotiations

thanks dude. it’s an interesting topic with lots of misunderstanding flying around, i enjoy getting to share my experience.

need to vs compelled to are very different things. it is not to for you to insist this information be offered publicly if she were to wish this information remain private. it is only to be offered with her consent.

ah, no, current union minimum rates are $451 for 1 hour, not 4. just to cite the previous kotaku article:

According to a SAG-ATRA 2020 rate sheet, off-camera day performers in the union can expect a minimum of $451.00 an hour if doing a single role, or $902.00 an hour if doing up to three.”

abusers operate only behind closed doors and shrivel up when exposed to daylight. they can not do what they do in the open, with eyes on him. even if he’s not genuinely remorseful, from a purely pragmatic standpoint it serves him to give up and remove him from self entirely from the situation.

well 4k assumes at least a 10 hour record (if being paid minimum). so some intention to use her? the union rates on this are well established.

no prob. it’s nice to share my experience.

that made me mad.

it depends. i would suspect it’s probably not a viable arrangement because it’s not something they can guarantee. Devs earn most of their payout getting paid upfront in milestone payments throughout the projects, and revenue sharing between publisher or studio are often only set up to trigger when conditions/sales
