yep. it’s not limited to Nintendo either. we had similar policies when I was at an outsourcing studio, working with other major publishers.

Rather be a clown who enjoys things and isn’t terrified and offended by a gay or black character appearing in a fictional piece of media.

They really are sad. They get their jollies from “triggering” or “owning” people, or from “boycotting” anything that offends their fragile senses, but I usually just end up feeling pity for them.

Don’t be a cunt, Leykis.

Yeah, they’re a bit of lost causes. Fearful of a world they feel they deserve to own from within their mother’s basement and behind a keyboard.

When they proclaimed that football was too woke I knew for certain they had really jumped the shark

It’s hard to take the digital archiving thing seriously when it feels like it’s an excuse many people trot out to justify keeping an ecosystem that’s primary and overwhelming use is piracy.

Well that fucking sucks. Anywho, back to pirating Nintendo games.

That's Lucario

I think I just contracted malaria from reading this comment

Text to Speech placeholder has been a thing in game narratives for 20 years. We’re talking Microsoft Sam. We had a thing in one game I worked on that if there was no speech audio file associated with a dialogue event line, Microsoft Sam would read line instead. Very embarrassing that Ubisoft shipped with this.

Text to speech - aka robospeech - has been used as placeholder speech in games for decades now. We’re talking 2000's Microsoft Sam, not AI. This is stand in until final voice over lines are recorded, mastered, and implemented into game. Very embarrassing for Ubisoft that they shipped with this though. Signed,

Your preaching to the wrong crowd brother. Alot of people in these comments think playing “sportsball” is brutish, mean, overly competitive and makes kids too tough.

Right? Sitting around playing Tetris all day isn’t any better than endlessly mocking people for enjoying things.

Unless this is written and directed by someone else, I don’t actually expect this to come out. Kojima is an absolutely terrible writer and shows no aptitude for cinema. The reason his games are great is that he has a wonderful imagination and has a very clever feel for gameplay. His pacing and his dialogue, however,

And then he shows up at the end and it’s WHOA

I was actually terrified they would follow some/any of the beats from the movie/comic. And I LOOOOOOVE the movie. But by the time the show gets going, I was ridiculously invested in how different it approached every situation and gave everyone so much depth.

Spoilers my guy! It’s only been 36 years! I was going to watch that film at some unnamed point in the future!

Nah, it was actually great, and a majority of the criticism comes from people who can’t process stories they don’t immediately relate to.

People incapable of character growth hate character growth.
