People started out on the offensive against OP and OP got defensive. People earlier were like ‘why should I be courteous if OP is an asshole,’ which was ironic.

It just seems so wrong to label someone as dumb, or bad, or an asshole for not knowing as much as you about something terrible that happened to one woman 20 years ago.
Are you saying you’ve never been mistaken about how much you thought you knew about a topic? No one’s ever corrected you in conversation or on the internet? Even if that is true, I doubt *everyone* is so lucky.
How old is baby Hitler - paradox.
Again, two words, said offhandedly, shouldn’t be considered ‘running your mouth off about something you dont know.’ Also, how were they supposed to know they didn’t have all the facts. How does a person know what they don’t know, esp about a 20 year old case? If you’re under 35 maybe you never saw how prevalent the…
This is exactly what I am taking about. OP was flippant, yeah, but didn’t know about Stella. ‘Dumb lady,’ two words, isn’t exactly running their mouth. Its unreasonable to expect people to google EVRYTHING before saying anything remotely, offhandedly, negative. Everyone has misconceptions.
It’s pretty easy, I can keep going.
I see the irony but I honestly am. I keep saying ‘they made a mistake.’ Everyone else keeps saying ‘how dare op not know as much as me!’
I’m just surprised everyone is so invested in my agreeing OP is an asshole and OP didn’t just make an honest mistake. I could be doing more constructive things, it’s true, but so could you. Why is it important to you I agree OP is an asshole?
I knew about the case, not that it matters and I’m not sure why this is turning into a personal attack against me. I just don’t think it’s fair to sit on a high horse because you know more than someone else about something. OP probably reacted poorly because everyone was being assholes about it.
OP didn’t know that coffee lady was seriously injured. That hbo documentary informed a lot of people but a lot of people didn’t see it or know about it.
I’m not sure I quite follow what you’re getting at but... I always thought being asshole was more than just being ‘dumb.’
Oh yes, I definitely check if I’m uncertain. But there have been times in my life I’ve thought I knew something for certain and I was wrong. It’s the human condition. It’s that whole ‘known unknowns and unknown unknowns’ thing. It’s hubris to think you’ve never made a mistake.
You are correct. I make mistakes sometimes, and sometimes I’m wrong. Everyone makes certain assumptions. No one is infallible. You are claiming there is nothing you’ve been incorrect about?
I am half trolling, half honestly surprised at how invested everyone is that everyone agree OP is an asshole.
Yet you are still here.
Oh I wasn’t calling you an asshole. I was calling lalaburns. I disagree with you on the fact that everyone should google everything before they comment. Nothing you could say could convince me that you actually are correct on every count of everything you’ve ever said on the internet. Everyone makes mistakes and has…
It must take you a really long time to have conversations.
I mean, can anyone really be right or wrong about who is an asshole?
Why are you being an asshole? Why can’t we have a nice discussion?
