Would be a neat if the game more properly conveyed that somehow. I actually like the idea, it just doesn’t actually come across as that in the game. Not sure how you would though. In a cinematic sense the bullets would wizz by without actually hitting him, but then players would get frustrated their health is going

I joined the PS4 generation this year, happily staying on my PC until a threshold of exclusives that interested me. I only have a 1080p TV, but coming from good PC better framerate was a must for me so I caught a good deal on a Pro with some discount codes. Given how even optimized pro games can stutter and drop in

Oh wow, I remember that game! Or at least the small snippet of it I could play in the demo/shareware collection we had that included it. Thought it was super cool at the time.

I played this during one of the beta periods a couple of weeks back. I actually like the game in concept, the general flow of it. Combat seemed to work well enough for me. The whole streamer culture pushing behind it ultimately turned me off though. Having a guy talking over his mic narrating my fight with him to his

Given the simplistic style and the scaleability of the engine, I don’t see why it couldn’t run locally. Just will have to cut some corners in the settings and rendering to get it running nicely, probably change up the assets somewhat. It won’t be as pretty, but it would work.

Pretty much what I figured. Fun to use to get a closer look at the world when exploring, awful for combat. Not really bad, I like going into first person in FFXIV every now and then to just walk among the crowds (and creep on people’s outfits), so having an option is always nice.

With a direct sequel to BotW it would make sense since she and Link go off to adventure together at the very end, basically. Character swap mechanic where you use them together to solve puzzles makes perfect sense for a Zelda game (and has sorta been done as mentioned with Spirit Tracks). I was imagining a game with

Ooo, maybe we’ll see a DLC sale. Picked Bloodborne up new physical for $10 a few months back, been waiting to see if the DLC will go on sale.

I probably would have just shown him where the easy spot to farm was, do it a few times, and then hand over the controller.

Ah, so probably all stuff I wouldn’t have bothered with anyways. Those types of “community” padding features are things I generally avoid anyways. Good to know, thanks! (and thanks to all the other replies)

So as someone who is interested in getting this game at some point in the future... what exactly does this mean?

Yeah, those are the two I really care about playing. The Bioware Points thing basically means a sale will never happen for PC, though. ME3 doesn’t have that problem, but I haven’t seen any sales (though it’s likely I’ve missed some at this point).

Which is what’s keeping me from playing any of the DLC. As much as I want to play them, I’d be spending more than I spent on the base games for a small fraction of the content. That and I think you still have to deal with the “Bioware Points” for the DLC on PC, which I will not have any part in.

You freaked me out for a second by putting FFVI as the image under “30 years old”. Brief moment of questioning my age and everything I thought I knew about relative time of release dates since that was essentially my entry point into the series as a kid.

Microsoft has done quite a bit to better PC gaming, really. The Xbox 360 controller is what finally brought in a standardized control set for PC gaming, and by the end of that generation most PC ports fully supported at least Xinput (which could then be emulated by whatever controller you wanted if it didn’t do it

Consoles going for more PC-like architecture was one of the best things to happen to PC gaming and it’s only been getting better. We’re past the janky, no controller support ports of yesteryear and couch gaming on PC is being better supported as a result, finally. There are still bad ports and still some devs that

This looks like it might hit the marks on things I look for in an FPS, which is a genre I generally can’t get into much with a few exceptions. Definitely looking forward to seeing more!

I have no idea what this game is, and have no idea what’s going on, and yet I find myself completely fascinated. Really hope this turns out to be a good game and not just a weird Kojima fever dream.

Wish more games did stuff like this, and on PS4 as well. After playing Breath of the Wild I find myself feeling restricted with anything else. Was playing The Last of Us Remastered and kept trying to move the controller while aiming. Getting Horizon Zero Dawn soon and I know I’ll definitely be missing it there.

This game is another point on making me want to move back home to friends and family. Managed to play it a bit of one on one using streaming stuff to play online and it just makes me want to play the game with the full four players. Guess I’ll have to make some local friends....
