Surprising how far I had to scroll to find this opinion, which I agree with 100%. This remake reeks of a quick cash-grab that drains all the detail of the original art out of the game. Really wish SE would put some effort into it and try to more closely match the detail and style of the original art poster. Look at

I know achievements are silly to some, but I can’t play retro games without them these days (retroachievements.org). Pretty amazing stuff those guys have put together over there.

I see you’re taking some flack from other commenters, but you are 100% correct. I work in an industry that ships HDDs with time-sensitive data and there is no way anyone would ever use USPS. It is totally unreliable and theft is a major issue. For something this valuable... has to be FedEx or UPS with full

Has anyone seen news on whether or not it will have RetroAchievements.org support? It probably wouldn’t be a minor undertaking to include it if they are indeed using the original hardware and not emulation, but nevertheless, I can’t go back to playing retro games without achievements after a taste.

The imdb forums are pretty bad, but where else can you go to find an entire forum dedicated to any individual movie, actor, director, etc? This is a serious question—after I watch a movie and want to discuss theories, plot holes, clarifications, etc, what is out there other than the imdb forums?

I’ll start off by saying that I agree with the vast majority of what you have on here. Most of this stuff is batshit crazy.

I recently acquired an 8-year old Toshiba laptop for free and have tested some games on it to see what runs. Surprisingly, Shovel Knight struggles.

There seems to be some confusion on this topic.... you won’t right now. The adapter that comes with the phone is male lightning to female 3.5mm for connecting nearly every set of headphones in the world to the phone on which Apple was bold enough to remove 3.5mm.

Hey Wes. Thanks for this write-up and your continued responses to the comments.

Two widely speculated features that are notably absent here:

Yep. And I use mine on long road trips to listen to audio books. My car has only an aux jack and no bluetooth audio (many cars >5 years old are like this). I am also using my phone for GPS navigation. Not being able to charge the phone and output audio at the same time is a deal breaker.

As someone who uses a lifeproof case (basically required for my job) that requires a screw-in adapter for headphones, I can confirm your concerns about the adapter. It is incredibly inconvenient and I lose it all the time.

Thanks for your comment, Gene Freidman!

Jason, do you know if this version fixes the framerate issues of the PC version? On PC, battles are capped at 15fps, while they ran at 60fps on PS1. The actual animations look the same as the PS1 animations effectively ran at 15fps (4 of the same frame in a row). This allowed the menus to run at a smooth 60fps on

Love the SNES. So many incredible games, even by today’s standards—Super Metroid, Final Fantasy IV, Final Fantasy VI, SMW, Mario Kart, Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana (3-player!), DKC, Kirby Superstar, and so many more, including this one I haven’t seen mentioned yet:

The rest of the world would give a shit about cab owners’ issues with Uber/Lyft, but our shit-giving machine is currently broken.

A cursory skimming of this post led me to believe it was about The Ultimate Showdown from 2005.

Reminds me a little of watching Jarod Radnich. I highly recommend you check out his youtube channel. Only 7 videos, but his arrangements are awesome. I linked to his Harry Potter video as it has some similar movement to the video in the article, but check out his Pirates of the Caribbean and Game of Thrones

Egads! When was the Soviet Union disbanded?? What year is it?

That would be a positive piece of news we could give them. “No nuclear weapons have been used on a population in the last 50 years.”
