I wonder if this was the result of all the people who told Nintendo they play 2D only in their Club Nintendo surveys? I know I usually answer that I play in 2D. Didn't buy a 3DS for the 3D, bought it for the games.

Maybe it's me, but I don't recall the pollution that bad when I went to visit last year. Also, I never heard my friends and family who live there complain about the air quality. Might need to bring it up next time I talk to my grandmother in Hong Kong.

Want to eat at the Ninja themed restaurant, but can't go to Japan? Well...at least there's a Ninja themed restaurant in the US. Specifically in New York: http://www.ninjanewyork.com/

The charge from my Sixaxis Controller from the 2006 launch PS3 model has a charge that is not the same as it was before. Instead of lasting more than 10+ hours on a charge for me, it's down to at least 5 hours. After all these years. Whereas my XBox 360 re-chargeable battery kit cannot last more than 2 hours after 4

And somewhere Jack Kirby is crying in his grave. While Ditko continues his secret grudge against Stan Lee by writing some Objectivism based comic book that has subtle shots against Stan Lee that no one will read.

Sakaguchi left after a little after Final Fantasy X. He was listed as an executive producer to the game, but from what I understand, he gave little creative input to the game. Hell, he was even listed as executive producer for Final Fantasy X-2. His last full fledged JRPG [creatively speaking] at Square was Final

You know what Final Fantasy needs? Their creator to return. Sakaguchi proves he can still make a solid JRPG with less resources he would have had if he was still at Square-Enix. I thought Lost Odyssey was a strong JRPG that was overlooked, and Last Story was one of the best JRPGs I've played in the past few years.

I always assumed that one reason they prefer to have software on their own hardware is because during R&D, the hardware department would share information to the software developers at Nintendo so they can optimize the best possible software for their own hardware. It makes sense why Nintendo is able to execute great

Well, I just read IGN's article about Nintendo's financial reports, and it did mention favorable currency market. Hrm...perhaps I should expect more from Kotaku...

Yes, I know it reported an operating loss. But still reported a $88m net profit for the last quarter. And it is a good indication of the health of the company. But the weaker Yen isn't the only reason for the reported net profit. It's a big reason, but not the only reason. Strong enough 3DS hardware and software sales

Agreed. Though for me, I was contending that the stronger Yen was what was hurting Nintendo, as well as most major Japanese companies like Sony and Toyota. The stronger Yen just compounded Nintendo's misfortunes during the past two years.

I wouldn't say it's the only reason. Nintendo is definitely not making as much revenue as they were between 2006-2009. And while their 3DS sales have fallen, it's not enough to generate a loss, even with the depreciated value of the Yen. But it is a big factor.

And in defense to Kotaku, the writers and editors of

Yeah, I think a $1.1 billion goal seems kinda difficult to achieve. But I think this prediction is made because Nintendo expects enough WiiU games [such as Super Mario 3D Land, Zelda: Windwaker HD, and Pikmin 3] to be released by then that it'll boost WiiU sales. If both WiiU and 3DS [especially when Pokemon X and Y

I think it should be noted that one reason for Nintendo's profit isn't just because of sales, but because the dollar is now stronger against the Yen. Two years ago, the Yen hit a high against the dollar, thus cutting the profit margin for Nintendo dramatically when they had to convert all foreign currency into Yen.

As a Nintendo fanboy, I agree that this statement has some validity. But Nintendo is still has a large enough presence to still be relevant in the gaming industry. If anything, I still see a lot of kids play Nintendo devices, thus generating new fans every generation.

I'm pretty sure everyone knows that. But that doesn't mean that people like it. It's like all the XBox 360 owners who wish The Last of Us was on their system, or that Halo was on the PS3.

Yeah, I know it's by George Miller and will be set in Australia. He could still have the accent removed. Haven't seen Tom Hardy do an Aussie accent before. But who knows.

While I thought it was Fallout 4 at first, I wasn't entirely disappointed. I mean, Mad Max was a huge influence on the Fallout series. So I don't mind that it's not Fallout 4.

I know they got rid of the Australian accent, but I wonder if the decision was made because of the new upcoming Mad Max movie? I wonder if the real reason was because Mad Max: Fury Road with Tom Hardy does not use an Australian accent [which I don't know if Tom Hardy will sound Australian or not], and the developers

Thanks for the tip.
