The difference for me is that once I download it, I don't have to worry about taking my system to an Internet-less location for any period of time and still be able to play these games. And if the end-of-life ever occurs, I don't have to worry if I can still play the games I downloaded.
Remember when programmers fell in love with Windows 8, but the consumers didn't? Microsoft then went on to make Windows 8.1, trying to improve the OS to meet the needs of the consumers. Maybe the XBox One will see a similar result? Perhaps Microsoft's ideas are a little too extreme from the consumer point of view -…
This is my biggest concern. I still go back and play some great SNES, Sega Saturn, PS2, etc. games every once and a while. My current-gen library for my XBox 360 is over 30+ right now. The biggest reason I am not picking up an XBox One is the unclear messaging Microsoft is giving me with their end of life strategy.
Shows off Nintendo magic. Is Luigi so no one cares.
Milo is that you?
Sorry, couldn't resist.
I always thought Nintendo's 3DS sales plan was to release Pokemon? I'm pretty sure the release of Pokemon will revitalize 3DS sales. I really hope Nintendo doesn't think the StreetPass improvements are the main reason they will see a boost in sales come this Fall.
*Looks at my wallet. Cries*
At least Ubisoft is still supporting and publishing games for the WiiU instead of just skipping it. *looks at EA*
I didn't hear any though. If you have a source of where they officially said this, I would appreciate it. I do like some of their exclusives [where the PS4 doesn't have very many], but having a working console after the end of life is a HUGE factor for me.
It's too early to tell. If each game was independently reliant on different servers that would require a fix on all games. It's easy to assume Microsoft will have a fix, but at the moment Microsoft hasn't said anything to reassure me on this.
My biggest concern is end of life though. Years from now, when there's no more XBox One servers online, will the XBox One get a patch that doesn't require Online checks to play games? I know it's far ahead, but it's an important risk I take to see if a library of games completely unplayable for a generation after the…
Probably said by others, but I thought I would re-iterate it: It's free, regardless if you're a Gold Member or not [as a friend who was Silver got it for free]. If you buy it from xbox.com, you have to choose to purchase it by MS Points in order to get it for free. Otherwise if you pay by Credit Card, it's listed as…
Speaking of additional XBox One hate, there was unsubstantiated rumors that Microsoft hired PR firms to go to forums and reddit to post positive comments about Microsoft and the XBox One.
Then on neogaf, there was word that Microsoft is paying 3rd party developers not to show PS4 ports of their games in order to make…
No. That's not it. I loved Resident Evil 5, despite it being a lot less like past Resident Evil games. I was looking forward for Resident Evil 6. I played through the 2 of the main campaigns, and saved Chris' campaign for last. Got through half of Chris' campaign and stopped. Why? I couldn't lie to myself, I did not…
Yes, it's a joke. Though to be fair, depending on what drives he has, and what magnet he has, he can easily corrupt his data [though not wipe] with a magnet with ease.
Specifically with a magnet right?
I think J.Green and Smooth JA answered your question, but I thought I would give my input as well.
There is a reason this game did not sell when it initially came out. When it came out, the average player sees screenshots of the game, and graphically, their initial reaction is that it looks bland and terrible. With the…
How official is official when the president says it's being localized in an interview? I consider that a pretty official confirmation that it'll be released, short of a release date.
Level-5, the developer of the Professor Layton series, is publishing it. In an interview with their President last December, they announced they are localizing the game. It's just a matter of officially announcing a release date.
