I don’t remember the hype for SFA2 being as big as the first SFA game. But I do recall the SFA series getting great reviews during it’s original run. At least from the GameFan magazines I read back then.

I completely understand the convenience and the luxury for digital. But for me, I prefer physical. And it’s primarily because I’m weary about the limitations of long term access for games digitally.

A few hundred bucks is expensive for a video game. Especially if you want a decent library. A lot of the top US Saturn games are over $100, that if you buy a few, it will end up costing thousands.
